I have a 1.7mm ring with a .90 ct center stone. It’s 14K so it’s a little stonger and I’ll solder my band to it for durability once we’re married. I wanted as thin as absolutely possible, my jeweler recommended not going any thinnner, in fact, this was the thinnest setting they sell. I love it and I think it’s super dainty and perfect! I’m actually having trouble finding a band that looks good with it they all seem to overpower my e-ring!

dedenm :  I asked a local bespoke jeweller about a similar style and he said the same. He said that a band being so think will break eventually and that some rings will have to be remade altogether if damaged. Also flagged the bubble bands that are so popular.

Pity because the delicate bands are so lovely.

My ring is 1.5mm and honestly it makes me a bit nervous 😅 it’s feels almost too light but my diamond is only half a carat so the weight isn’t drastic so I’m hoping long term it’ll be okay but I imagine any larger would be pushing it
