Please keep in mind that the BBB is just a mediator. They cannot force a company to give you your money back. They just inform the company that there is an issue and act as a non-biased third party in communications to and from.

@franklyn:  sorry if you’ve already mentioned this and I missed it, but what did you get your money back for? Was it just the setting fee or did he actually cover the cost of the diamond? Hope it’s not the former cuz then you’d still have to deal with returning the stone to blue nile, huh?

franklyn:  Wow your new stone is so sparkly! What a beauty!  Really nice setting too.

I’m so sorry the other jeweller got away with it. But I agree, if it’s sucking up your energy sometimes it’s better to let it go.  Like you say, you can still have a bezel setting.  Thanks for the update 🙂

How did it turn out?  Everytime you set a stone, it is at risk for chipping, it doesn’t happen a lot but it does happen.  Usually they don’t give you money but will replace the stone with one of equal value, clarity, cut etc… something they can pull from their inventory at cost so it is not as big of a loss to them and you get a replacement.
