Does it have any markings that indicate what that metal is?  Either way I’m not sure that can be resized due to the way those diamonds are set.  I would say take it to a jeweler they can tell you.

If it is gold then yes, if it is titanium or tungsten then no.

take it to a jewellery store where they do the work on site.  you can usually talk to the jeweller/goldsmith directly this way.

he/she will be able to tell you what your options are.

I’m going to venture a guess and say no. A jeweler would have to replicate the three layers in a shank fragment, cut the back open and slide it in. He or she would then have to solder the silver metal separately from the gold, because the tones would require different solder. This just seems extremely difficult to do, and there’s no guarantee the solder would stay put.. you might have some of a silver solder seam on the gold and visa versa. If you didn’t mind changing the design of the piece, you could have a jeweler insert a piece of metal that was all gold or silver, and use the corresponding solder.

But I agree that you should bring it to a jeweler. They’ll know for sure.

If it’s impossible to do, you can have the metals refined and made into a new ring.

@Utopia4us:  The solid metal would work as long as they didn’t have to size it up too much larger. Because it’s a very thick piece, it has less give. But you never know, maybe you have an incredible master goldsmith near you that can do anything!

The best thing to do is taker it to a jeweler that you trust. The jeweler will be the best one to know if it can be or should be sized.

I’m sure he could, BUT….it would just be a blob of regular gold in there and not the stripes. but he could do it at the back where no one would really see it.
