How exciting! But also bittersweet to have to leave your Fiance behind. Mr. Bunting gave me a heart locket necklace that I used to wear whenever we were apart for a long time. It was so comforting to be able to peek at his photo whenever I missed him, no matter where I was.

If you don’t want to bring your e-ring (which is understandable), maybe you could get a cheap, pretty ring so that your finger won’t feel so naked and lonely.

My SO gave me an “I love you” ring for our one year anniversary.  I’m still in school, and he thought it would serve as a nice reminder that he is there for me, even though we wouldn’t physically be together.

I understand the worry associated with traveling and wearing jewelry.  What about a silver claddagh ring?  You can find them on amazon for less than $20.  You could still wear it on your left hand to show you are taken.  It symbolizes love, friendship, and loyalty yet wouldn’t draw attention like your e-ring.

Another option would be to buy another more simple ring. . .perhaps a promise-type ring with a very small stone, or even a plain band.  I’ve seen some small rings at Walmart for less than $100.  Some of the plain 14kt bands are ~$60.
