I’m so upset right now. Earlier in the week I left a ring at our local jewelry store to get resized. It was one of my step mother’s rings, who passed away last year, and I’ve been looking forward to being able to wear it. I called the jewelry store to see if it was ready yet, since I was told someone would call me today about it. And he goes
“Well we have it in our computer, but it hasn’t been on my desk this week (they do all their own gold work in the store), and I can’t seem to locate it in any of our drawers”.
They’ve lost my ring. This was about an hour I called, and he told me he would continue looking for it, and call me back. I got no response, so I called him, and he said that no one in the store has seen the ring since i left it with the manager on Monday. He told me he would continue looking, and would compensate me for the ring if it wasn’t located. But the ring itself is worth more to me because it’s my step mom’s ring, not because of the gold, diamond and sapphires in it.
I’m so upset, and I don’t know what to do. I just want my ring back.

Where the heck is the manager, since he/she was the last person who had it?

Apparently he’s not in today. I spoke directly with the jeweler, since the girl at the counter couldn’t find it. I don’t know what’s going on, I just want my ring back.
I chose them of all the jewelry stores because of the fact they do all their work on site, and I thought my ring would be safer there then one that had to send it away. Apparently not

Don’t worry yourself too much. I bet it’s in the safe or wrong bag. I worked a jewelry store back in the day and lost items turned up 99% of the time

I deal with a jeweler that does their work on site too. I feel the jewelry is safer there. I hope they find it!

Hope they find it!! Make sure you talk to the manager when he’s in, he may remember what he did with it

Oh I’m so sorry. The same thing happened to my stepmother; the jewelry store lost her gold charm bracelet that had meaningful charms on it dating back 20+ years. They never found it and had to replace it as best they could. As you can imagine, she was very upset. I hope that you will have better luck. Crossing my fingers for you.

i’m sure it will turn up somewhere. it obviously must still be somewhere in the store.
did you see them put it into one of those little numbered envelopes or did they just take it?

The manager was probably just having a scatterbrained day and didn’t put it in the usual place. I’m sure it will turn up! You should see if they can call the manager at home so you don’t have to worry the whole weekend

They found it! Took them three hours to find it though. It was put with someone else’s jewelry and set aside to be returned to them. They gave me the resizing for free, and a gift credit for my worry. I’m just happy to have my ring back.

I’m so glad they were able to find it!!!!!!! Suchs that you had to live with that panic for hours though.

good to hear!!! that was nice of them to compensate you with a gift card in addition to free sizing.
