Hi bees! To make a long story short, I’m Methodist and FH is Jewish by heritage. We’re having a blended ceremony with elements of both faiths. I’m really struggling to find a reading that I like though… I keep finding The Seven Blessings, and it’s just too much. My FH’s family knows he’s not actively practicing the faith. He’s not a very religious person; he’s more “spiritual” than anything, but he wants to play to his heritage. My reading is going to be I Corinthians Chapter 13, and I want something of similar length. The only things I’m finding are extremely short or too long. Any thoughts? TIA! 🙂

This is the version of the seven blessings we had read at our wedding.
May your marriage enrich your lives and the lives of everyone around you.
May you work together to build a relationship of substance and quality.
May the honesty of your communication build a foundation of understanding, connection, and trust.
May you respect each other’s individual personality and philosophy and give each other room to grow and fulfill each other’s dreams.
May your sense of humor and playful spirit continue to enliven your relationship.
May you understand that neither of you is perfect: you are both subject to human frailties: and may your love strengthen when you fall short of each other’s expectations.
May you be “best friends”, better together than either of you are apart.

We are doing a similar blended but mostly secular ceremony. Our readings are Song of Solomon and Corinthians 13:4-13. We are also having a chuppah and ketuba and breaking the glass.
