Good morning Bees!
I have just begun the wedding planning process…and been wondering can you have a ceramony on Saturday night? I am reform and my fiance is conservative…our ceramony (as of now) is at a reform temple. Does it have to be after sunset? I am so confused and a little embarassed to ask the temple director the question.

I’m having a Jewish ceremony before sunset on a Saturday. The Rabbi wasn’t thrilled, but we’re reform and he didn’t mind too much.
I think its up to the Rabbi and the temple, so you should definitely ask. Traditionally the answer is "no"…but you never know until you ask!

It depends on the temple and the rabbi. It should technically be after sunset, so if you are getting married in June, it wouldnt be til pretty late. Id just ask, Im sure people ask all the time.

It should be after sunset, which makes a Saturday wedding in June pretty difficult. Just remember – even if your rabbi is flexible, some conservative members of the family may not feel comfortable attending a Saturday wedding that starts befores sunset. You can talk to the rabbi, but I would also talk to some family before you make a final decision.
