My soon to be sister in law is doing the same thing this year, id say look at the christmas wedding/december wedding boards for some inspiration.

My best friends mom used to have tree trimming parties every year, mabey you could do something like that, ask each guest to bring an ornament so that your tree will be filled with love, family and friends

Mabey have traditional christmas drinks such as egg nog, apple cide and hot chocolate, with the option to make them alcoholic

Have a red/green candy bar

We exchanged cheap little gag gifts with each other at one of my old office parties.  The crazier the gift the better.  One girl won a plastic pink flamingo for her front yard!

I love holiday parties!!!

One of my favorite details I’ve seen is cranberries frozen into ice cubes.

Peppermint martinis with mini candy canes hanging on them (yum)

Lots lights and someone HAS to show up wearing an old-school Christmas sweater 🙂

make it a tacky sweater party! or my friend always throws a party and you have to wear a costume.. last year she was a “slutty” elf but her sister made a christmas tree costume out of felt and covered shoeboxes with brown paper to wear on her feet. lol.

Our friends started doing an annual “comfy Christmas” where we all show up in pajamas.  We did gifts in a White Elephant/Yankee swap and played Christmas trivia for prizes. It’s a really fun time!

We had a very small party last winter where we watched all the classic/cheesy Christmas movies and made festive cocktails. It was so much to watch The Grinch, Rudolph and Frosty in one night with all of our friends!!

(Although I will admit there was more talking than watching — but that’s what we wanted!)
