I’m so sorry!  Honestly, I dont think they should have hired you when you didn’t have the experience if they didn’t have a backup for the time in between when you would learn.  I don’t see how they can expect that of you.

Anytime a company or office transitions from an old employee to a new employee, it can be difficult.  Honestly, it sounds like your department (or your bosses?) aren’t handling that transition well.  It sounds really stressful for you.

Can you sit down with your boss sometime this week to talk about expectations?  I think it’s always best to communicate your needs to your boss, if possible, because even management can feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable with change, and he/she might not realizes their projecting their feelings onto you.  Maybe just explain that you know your tranisition will be a learning experience (for you, your co-workers, your company, etc…) and you need some patience/understanding.  Often times if you can get the head of the department or another manager to understand how overwhleming this is for you, they will try to relieve some of the pressure by working with you on projects, getting you outside help, etc…
