I’m a former employment specialist, I would recommend checking Craigslist, as well as looking up potential companies to work for, and looking directly on their websites.  Also, if there is a company you would like to work for, but they don’t have an opening, apply anyways.  You never know!

I think you should follow up on any resume after 7-10 days.  You can always just follow up by asking if they have received your resume and if they will be starting the interview process soon.  The worse they’re going to tell you is that they’re not interested.  It is pretty darn tough to find something nowadays, but keep your chin up, something will come soon!
