Hi ladies! I’ve been offered a job via phone, and my husband thinks it’s odd that I didn’t get an actual offer letter. I never have, but granted, I’ve only had crappy student jobs. He says he always has, even for internships. I was wondering if it’s just because we’re in two different fields.
Have you always gotten an offer letter when you’ve been offered a job?

@elizabeth2004: Usually when you accept the offer by phone an offer letter comes in the form of an email afterwards.

@elizabeth2004: Normally I have, but one company didn’t want to give me one until I’d accepted the offer. I personally don’t see it as a big deal, but I wouldn’t put in notice at another job until I had the offer in writing.

@VAwife: I don’t currently have a job, so no worries there. It looks like I should be sure to ask someone about a letter/email if I decide to take the job, though.
