- Wedding: October 2011
I had never been on the Weddingbee site when I did a google search for ‘Carmel Photographers,’ and up popped ‘Johnny T. Wong photography.’ He was advertising free engagement sessions to couples willing to let him use their pictures for promotions and to build his portfolio. We live in Southern California, but are getting married in Carmel in the fall, so when I realized that we could score a free e-session while we were up north for our food and cake tastings, I immediately joined wedding bee and emailed Johnny T.
Admittedly, I started to regret my decision to meet with this internet stranger as the days neared for our trip to the wedding site. What was I thinking? Hiring a photographer based on promises of free pictures? I had no idea where we were meeting him, just that it was an isolated, small park in the middle of a town we had never stepped foot in.
Thankfully, Johnny was not the scary cyber-stalker I had built up in my head, instead he was a cheerful young guy that had his delightful wife in tow. He put my fiance and I at ease within minutes, and within two hours had captured some of the most adorable and romantic moments of our engagement. I love how the photos turned out and have returned to weddingbee to sing Johnny’s praises. I cannot guarantee that all internet transactions will go as well as this one, but I do hope you like the outcome of ours!
