I’m excited and just wanted to post.
Me and my husband are joining a gym today and I’m pretty stoked. I’ve never been a member of a gym before(I just went to my college’s one for free when and if I ever went). I’m hoping that I won’t get bored or lose the drive to work out like everyother time that I try to be active.
The gym offers several classes that are included in the membership so I feel like that will help me reach my goals once I get over the fear of working out in front of people (my husband may have to drag me to class a few times).
I look forward to starting this journey to reach my fitness and health goals… and looking extra sexy in my bikini on our honeymoon.
Wish me luck!

If you are offered any free personal trainer classes I recommend taking FULL advantage of them. I got four free ones and now pay for the service, but it is SO worth it. He gets me to do things I would have NEVER done on my own. And it will really help with the whole “everyone is staring at me omg i quit!” thing.

Good luck!! Im trying to get back in shape myself after the wedding I gained 10 pds!! and funny thing is I never even lost any weight for the wedding so Ijust gained lol
Definitely remember to take the strength training classes they arent that fun imo but muscle burns more fat and the classes make you strength train for an hr vs if i did it myself Id probably do 3 reps of back arm stuff and i’d be done =D

Good for you, girl!
Definitely try some of the classes: I found when I started going that finding a class I loved gave me something to look forward to, and you also get to know people in your class…helps motivate to keep going back when you are going to see familiar friendly faces!
Plus your instructor will watch you to make sure you’re doing the moves right so you don’t hurt yourself or anything.

SO and I will be joining one soon too. I hurt my back and was basically told I needed to start swimming by my ortho. Since I’m the same as you, always taking advantage of any free gym, I’m actually excited to join a real gym.

@peachacid: I know for the first month we will get free small group training classes. the other classes, like yoga and strength training, that are always included seem to still be small (like 15 people). I know we at least get to meet with a trainer set up a plan so that we will meet our goals. I think we are also allowed to meet with the trainer 1 on 1 for free for the first month as well.
@Mrs.Kpop: I tried to loose weight before the wedding, like 10 pounds, and ended up gaining another 10 instead. I cheat when I have DVD workouts too so I figure if I’m doing it with others I’m going to want to finish the reps otherwise I’m going to look like a weakling
@sara_tiara: I’m sure I will like at least one of the classes. They seem like they will be good to help get some variety in and push me to do stuff I normally wouldn’t do
@LiliKitty: I hope swimming helps. Good luck to you.
