Ok so now that most of my wedding is planned and we had our offer accepted on a house, I have no more excuses. Now that I am in panick mode as my wedding is in six months, as of today I am starting to go to the gym. I have promised myself at least 4 times a week of weight lifting/cardio.
If anyone has some great arm excercises (want to get rid of the wave and tone up) or any good cardio routines, please feel free to pass them along.

I highly suggest a book called ‘the new rules of lifting for women’. It has amazing strength training routines that will help you tone up! It’s a six month program so if you start now you will look epic for your wedding!
For cardio I can’t say enough about running. I’m just starting (finally can run 30 minutes straight!) but it’s an amazing workout. If you’re just starting running I also suggest the Couch 2 5km program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml).
To get some massive burn at the gym I also love the stair climber and rowing machine. Just keep adding variety so you don’t get bored! I’ve lost about 12lbs so far with 15 to go.

I agree with Emshaw – running really is the best form of cardio and the Couch to 5K program is a great one!

If you’re just starting and want to go 4 times/week, I really recommend that you do different workouts everytime… Otherwise after 3 weeks you might be very bored! I know I was! So now I alternate between running, spinning, martial arts and dance lessons… I am always looking forward to my next run since I don’t do this all the time! Good luck!

I agree with Emshaw in that lifting is a good idea. Weight training has been shown to speed up weight loss more than cardio alone. Best of luck to you!
