We had a joint plan before we were married. It was great for me, I got to join his plan and start a new one, which meant I could get a new phone 🙂

We do anything that makes financial sense. So yes, its cheaper to have a family plan for us than two individual plans.

We got a joint plan after our first year of dating. It just made sense for us.

We do not, because our phones are paid for through work.

we got a joint one but i was on my parents family plan still when we got married (cheaper that way, i just paid them every month) his contract was up and we both wanted new phones so we got on the same plan – we have joint everything though so this was expected.

Its on my to do list because it would definitely lower our bill but we haven’t gotten around to it yet. We’re both under contract with Verizon so one of us needs to sign some kind of legal release and we’re lazy by nature.

We each get discounts through work for our plans. We wanted to combine our plans but after talking to a rep we found out it would actually cost us the same if not MORE to have a family plan cause one of us would have to give up our discount in order to join plans. Didn’t seem worth the hassle if we weren’t going to save any money. Which is too bad. Would have been nice to just make one payment to Verizon instead of 2 separate ones.

We’ll be going to make a joint plan next month. It feels strange.

We added me as a spouse to his work plan over a year ago when we both upgraded to smartphones.

It just made sense financially, although we each pay our bills separately to avoid any hint of resentment: my family lives across the country and I pay more LD charges – which I could avoid, but sometimes it’s worth it to pay the fee, than to jump through hoops.

We have had a joint account for our phone bill for 3 years. For us it was cheaper, and my parents needed to put my grandpa on their family plan while he was traveling by himself across the country. So my FH and I talked it over, and it made the most sense to just get a combined family plan. He paid it for a while, then we switched to ATT and it was cheaper for me to sign up, so now I pay it.

I don’t live with Fiance yet and obviously we aren’t married yet but we are on the same cell phone plan.  It just made sense for us, financially.
