Of course it’s ok!!! You can wear whatever you want!  Within certain legal limits. 😉

I just got a white summer dress (JC Penny for $20). 🙂 I wanted something a little more dressy also under $100, but couldn’t find anything I really liked (I’d been looking for a few weeks). We got married Aug. 1 in Massachusetts since Arizona won’t legally marry us.

What can you expect? Call the office a few weeks before to find out their process. You may not be able to just “stop by”. MA had a 3 day waiting period after we filled out paperwork, but every state is different. My brother did a JoP wedding at my mom’s house last year, and the ceremony was very similar, only in AZ they made he and my SIL sign something and they both needed a witness each – no waiting period. In MA after the court processed the paperwork, we made an appointment to be married by the judge. The judge went through a basic ceremony and we repeated back the vows – we didn’t need witnesses.

We’re having another ceremony in October in Arizona, and I’m going to try to have our MA ceremony and our story tied into our AZ ceremony. In My Humble Opinion, having done two ceremonies, I would have only preferred one had their been an option. It was too much of a hassle and I’m less excited for our October ceremony because I feel like we already exchanged our vows.

Aw, they should! 🙂 It is more effort, though, and added about $2K onto our wedding budget (we decided it was a pre-moon, and we’re not doing a big honeymoon).

Good luck! I hope you find a dress you love! I had the hardest time finding something I liked that I could reuse for the reception. I don’t think the style I bought will work for an evening dinner, so I still need a reception dress. I also looked at Neiman Marcus Last Call, and they had SOOO many gorgeous evening dresses under $100, but I could never seem to find anything that looked good on me. :/
