In conjunction with MissHobbit’s comment I’d say alot, because I would eat a ton while packaging them, they are delicious!

Sorry I’m not of valid help to you either.. I think when I have received them as favors there’s usually 8-10ish per person? Maybe that’ll help you a little.

I think I bought 10 pounds for our 130 guest wedding.  That was just for a part of the candy buffet!  If you’re buying them as favors for everyone, I’d probably at least start with 25 pounds, and see how many boxes you fill.

Hmm.. just looked it up and I’m totally wrong, you’re “suppose” to give 5. Maybe I’m remembering incorrectly.

One tradition is to give 5.  There is even an accompanying poem:

Five sugared almonds for each guest to eat
To remind us that life is both bitter and sweet.
Five wishes for the new husband and wife —
Health, wealth, happiness, children, and a long life!

I am giving them as favors too,  and thats correct,  its 5 per person,   so its easy to do the maths and work out how many you will need.

I know this is quite an old fashioned favor now,  but i love old fashioned,   and delicately wrapped in tulle they are so pretty on the place settings.

hey for what it’s worth – it got very hot here in Los Angeles a week ago – ants got our almonds and we had to throw them all away 2 days before wedding. Please store appropriately.
