I’ve been meaning to roll call here for a while now but by the time I log on and get caught up on all the posts, I forget to actually do it! 🙂
Weeks pregnant/due date: 14+4, due Sept 29
Pregnancy journey: We have severe MFI and have been trying for baby #2 since August 2015. We did our first IVF cycle in November of this past year and froze four day 3 embryos. We did a freeze all because I was in such severe pain after retrieval. We did our first FET January 9th and transferred one of our embryos, and here we are!
Next appt/test/ultrasound: My next appointment is next Thursday at 15+6. I’ll be given my requisition for my anatomy scan to book a couple weeks later! I’m also being referred to an OB as I think my anxiety over this pregnancy is too much for my current family doc. She seems pretty eager to ship me off to a specialist, and I’m OK going!
Anything you’re struggling with? What helps you?: I’m really struggling to be excited for this pregnancy and settle in and enjoy it. I’m just always worried something will go awry. I’m hoping I feel much better after our anatomy scan.
Share a pic of anything (BFP, ultrasound, pet, funny gif): From our NT scan:
Bonus Question – What are you most looking forward to about Christmas this year?: Being on mat leave!!!

Aqualov : congrats!! I had a 2nd degree tear and episiotomy, and I felt like I was sitting on knives for about 10 days, but it gets better! Simon is 4 weeks today, and I’m still sore sometimes but I can get around pretty well. I hope you feel better soon!

happy2bee : So happy for you and little boy making it to viability!!! Yay! Hope the appointments go well this week and baby just stays in there super cozy for you for a long time yet!
Dreaming13 : yay! I’m so glad things are looking so good for you 🙂 hearing the heartbeat is one of my favorite things ever, next to feeling him kick. And how sweet of your mom and sister! I didn’t really need them until around 16/17 weeks but was wearing leggings a lot (normally I don’t) from swelling from the cysts I had. The jeans I bought at 16 weeks were still big on me, but way more comfortable than my normal ones. I tried getting into a pair of my really old, stretched out jeans the other day to work on the nursery. Ha! That was entertaining. I could get them up but they were NO where close to zipping!
MrsWitty : Congratulations and welcome to the thread!!! What a great birthday gift!
weightwatchers152 : sounds like a great weekend with your family 🙂 and yay for having a date scheduled for your c-section! So exciting!
Aqualov : yay!!! Congratulations momma! So happy for you! And Zella is such a sweet name 🙂
WillowB : congratulations and welcome!

We had our anatomy scan yesterday at 20+1 (how did we get to the halfway point already). Baby is doing fantastic and measuring a full week ahead and already nearly 1lb! I can’t believe it, I’ve been stressing a lot that with my lack of weight gain and initial loss (I lost about 15 and have now gained 2 back), the baby was going to be on the small end. I’m sporitng a tiny bump but most people don’t know I’m pregnant unless I tell them. I’ve gotten a lot of questions when out shopping re: is this a gift? And it has been hard because I finally am starting to feel more confident and excited about the baby. Anyway, we remain team green although I think the baby’s head looks more like a boy
I do have to see a perinatologist in a few weeks because during the anatomy scan they found placental lakes, which are common, but apparently I have multiple that are measuring well above average size. I had honestly never heard of these, basically pools of fluid or maternal blood (inactive bleeding) can be found sitting on top of the placenta. My OB wasn’t concerned quite yet, she wanted to have a specialist take a look to make sure they aren’t getting larger (she said it is unlikely they will resolve on their own) and also a growth scan to measure the baby. I obviously don’t mind the extra caution and scans, but after a bit of research I am kind of worried. Risks with placental lakes are IUGR (does not seem to be an issue, yet), low birth weight (under 5th percentile), pre-eclampsia and risk for placenta accreta. Apparently lakes are found on the majority of women with placenta accreta, and this is the scariest to me. I could care less about the need for a potential c-section, but losing a lot of blood or a complete hystorectomy are scary.
Does anyone have experience or knowledge about placental lakes? I’m trying to come up with a list of questions I would like to ask the perinatologist in a few weeks. Right now it doesn’t seem like there is anything that can be done, but I do want to know what to ask and get a plan in place re: delivery.

hogoboom2012 : Thank you and yes, it will be! I’m just so in shock that I got pregnant again so fast after my miscarriage. But I’m happy! I feel like I have something to look forward to again. Now I’m just waiting to get everything confirmed by my family doctor on the April 18th and get a referral for an OB. I’m most anxious to get in for my dating ultrasound so I can hear a heartbeat though. I think once I hear that, my mind will be put more at ease.

Aqualov : congratulations!!! I’ve been lurking for updates. Zella is a beautiful name and way to rough it out during labor… 8 hours of transition is no joke!! Enjoy the baby snuggles… they’re the best!

WillowB : welcome! Very sweet ultrasound picture!
BeverlyGeese : congrats on a great anatomy scan! And baby measuring a full week ahead? Amazing! I have never heard of placental lakes. Why are there always new things for us to worry about?
MrsWitty : I hope April 18 comes quickly for you!

weightwatchers152 : so exciting that your registry is set up! And also exciting you have a c-section date 🙂 definitely makes it all more real! Are you feeling lots of movement from baby boy?
AFM… We are finally moved into our new house and settled. Whew! It’s the first day of my Spring break (I work in public schools) so I have plenty of time now to finish organizing and decorating. We are so excited about our new house and neighborhood because it is so safe, full of nature, and family friendly! (Unlike our old house downtown!). All of the neighbors are nice and word travels fast around here because they have all said “We heard you are expecting! Congrats!” Haha! I’m at 18 weeks 6 days and feeling baby girl moving a ton. Yesterday Darling Husband and I were both able to feel her kicking from the outside several times which was amazing! Darling Husband was thrilled because we thought it would be several more weeks. She must be an active one. Anatomy scan in one week! I hope everyone (or rather US bees) is enjoying Spring!

I will reply more thoroughly to others soon.
At 23+3, I am feeling pretty crappy. I’ve had light headed/dizzy spells often but not long lasting. It’s been about a week. Not sure if I’ve got a virus or inner ear infection, don’t think it’s blood pressure related as I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure.
Also haven’t felt baby boy move or kick at all. Not sure if this is because of my anterior placenta.
Lots to ask about at my next OB apppointment Thursday!
Have a great day, ladies! 🙂

hogoboom2012 : Thanks, that’s helpful. I’m 14 weeks today. It’s finally spring here and I needed new spring/summer work pants anyway. I tried to put them on today and cried because they looked awful. So I bought a pair of cropped chinos from Loft online tonight (for anyone who needs anything- everything is 40% off and hopefully they fit!) I loved hearing the heartbeat too and I can’t wait to feel Squirt move.
WillowB : Which groups? I’ve been reading a ton but I’m still not feeling super excited. More like “I can’t believe this is it” feeling. It’s not anxiety, it’s just this earie calmness. Maybe it’s because I feel incredibly prepared- I’ve been waiting/dreaming/planning for this for 2 years.

Dreaming13 : I meant the due date/pregnancy groups 🙂

BeverlyGeese : Can’t believe you are 20 weeks! We get referred to Maternal Fetal Medicine due to IVF/hyperthyroid (they would have done it for either). Don’t google anything until you have more information. Fingers crossed it’s “nothing” and you will just get some super cool images of baby. I was told MFM here has high def big screen monitors to see all the details. Good luck remaining team green- I’m guessing boy over here too. Thinking of you and Baby Goose.
