JLBB-brooklyn :  I would suggest a labor/delivery class and infant CPR. We did those 2 and a breastfeeding class. The breastfeeding class was fine but didn’t get any info you can’t find on the Internet. Plus there are Lactation consultants in the hospital to help you with breastfeeding if you need it. Our L&D class was my favorite, it was super informative and I learned a lot I didn’t know prior. A lot of it was focused on communication between your partner and you, and various topics you may not have discussed yet!

JLBB-brooklyn : I’m signed up for a baby care class at the end of the month – my hospital recommends taking these in the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy. It’s $70 but my insurance will reimburse.

JLBB-brooklyn :  I’ll be taking a childbirth class (1 day), infant CPR, and breastfeeding all between 7-9 months. But I wanted to chime in and say that all of the second-time moms in my month group said to bring your husband to the Boyfriend or Best Friend class. The sign-up for my class recommends it also. Just FYI, something to look into so you aren’t the only one showing up solo. 🙂

JLBB-brooklyn :  We took all the classes offered by our hospital and I don’t regret it (labor and delivery, CPR, breastfeeding, pumping), we learned a lot and it helped us in the first days/weeks. Darling Husband came to all the classes with me and he even took tons of notes! It was also a great way to prepare for parenthood, we took all the classes when I was around 8 months pregnant.

lalalalauren :  I love that picture! 🙂

RunnerBride13 :  I’m glad I’m not the only looking into them early! CPR classes by me are $85-100 depending if you want to be certified or not. The Childbirth classes are the pricey ones $350-395 from what I’ve found so far….

Ham1320 :  you are so lucky they are all free through your hospital! I’ll have to ask my OB if the hospital has any classes and see if I can get signed up!

Thunderstorm :  Good luck with your first scan tomorrow!

lalalalauren :  so you wouldn’t reccomend a breastfeeding class until after the baby? There is a group near me that meets every Friday AM to give breastfeeding support… maybe I should just wait?

nightborn :  Good to know your insurance will reimburse! Did youc all them to ask?

jammer62 :  Thanks for the tip about bringing Darling Husband to the BFing class!

Turtle83 :  Thanks for this! I guess I’m looking early, I’ll be 7mo in Jan so maybe I’ll shoot for around then. I know a mom whose baby came two months early, so I was thinking maybe I should do them at 6mo! But, holidays 🙁

JLBB-brooklyn :  I personally would skip the breastfeeding class unless it has rave reviews by other moms or someone you know in person. Mine was PACKED when we took it and I just feel like I didn’t learn anything new I didn’t already know! If you don’t know the basics then definitely go! It’s hard too because besides how baby should latch breastfeeding is very different for each mom.

Hi ladies! I’m a long time Weddingbee reader but finally decided to post. I’m stuck in this excited/terrified place and felt like I needed a place to share.

Roll Call!

Weeks pregnant/due date: 4 wks, 4 days

Pregnancy journey: Our last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 9 wks.

Next appt/test/ultrasound: I go back for more blood work on Monday 9/17 then hopefully they’ll schedule the first ultrasound.

What are you struggling with: Just stuck in this scary place of not knowing whether to be excited or terrified.

What helps you: I have the sweetest three year old son and because of him I know that my body is capable of growing a perfect baby.

Share a pic of anything (BFP, ultrasound, pet, funny gif):

Anybody experience severe groin pain–like you overdid the splits or something? I’ve been having terrible pain there. Trying to figure out what the signs of preterm labor are :/

Ham1320 :  I have constant pressure pain, and at times severe shooting pains in that area. Freaked me out, but US was good, so I forgot to ask the dr about it.

Had our NT scan, measuments are good, about 1.7mm for each baby. Dr said low risk. I asked about the test that will tell for sure and tells the gender, but she said with twins it is unreliable. The only concern she had was my Bridal Party was really high, but it is always super high at the Dr coz I am nervous and as soon as they start measuring the bp, I start panicking. She did not care for my explanation (even though it is always high on my chart for past 4 years at the drs), and wants me to come in next week just to re-check it (which I am sure from anxiety that it will be high again). If it becomes a big issue, I might ask for a 48 hour monitor, coz coming in to take it at the drs will give high readings. I measure it at home, and it is fine most of the time (unless really stressed, like laterly with tons of work issues).

RunnerBride13 :  Thank you!!!

JLBB-brooklyn :  Thank you!!! What a perfect little one! and yay for a posterior placenta!

Ham1320 :  Thank you!!!

snowwhite3 :  Congratulations!!!

solnishko1186 :  So glad you had a great NT scan! Sorry about the Bridal Party. Do you already have a Bridal Party cuff at home? Maybe if you bring in a Bridal Party log with good numbers that will help. Also, when they’re actually taking your Bridal Party make sure your legs aren’t crossed and it sometimes helps to be slowly breathing out while the machine goes. You might already know and be doing this!

AFM, my US went perfectly! Baby is measuring 7w1d (at 7w0d) and heartbeat was perfect. Also just one perfect baby! I cried and cried after the doctor left because I was so RELIEVED. It was just such a wonderful day. Next appointment is with RE at 10 wks, then I graduate! He said 95% chance its our THB and after a good US at 10 wk it would be 99%.

Hi guys. I feel more comfortable here than in the monthly mamas board given my trepidation to get excited about this 3rd pregnancy attempt for baby #2.

Roll Call!

Weeks pregnant/due date: 3w 4d/ June 2, 2017

Pregnancy journey: I got pregnant within the first 3 months of getting married with Dirty Delete. Everything was effortless. We tried once for one cycle and it worked! I had an uneventful pregnancy and beautiful natural childbirth. And then we got pregnant again in April 2015 after trying once for one cycle for Baby #2. Then I lost the baby right around Mother’s Day. I was devastated. We took some time to heal and then tried again and succeeded and conceived in August 2015. I even made it to the 8 week appointment only to find out there was no heartbeat and the baby stopped growing at 6w5d. I felt like I was in hell. But the weird thing is I have a daughter and it put me in this weird place of not knowing how to feel about this. I have proof that I can do this. The doctor sent me in for testing and found out I had super low hormone levels. I’m on estrogen and progesterone. And once again, we tried for one cycle and here I am, pregnant! I’m happy that I’m pregnant but obviously I’m a little scared.

Next appt/test/ultrasound: I just spoke with my doctor and she wants to bring me in around 6-7 weeks. So my next appointment is October 12. I will be 6w 5d.

What are you struggling with: Being down about this pregnancy until I see a wiggly baby on the ultrasound screen. We decided to keep it to ourselves until week 14. I’m sure I will start showing before then given this is my 4th pregnancy and hopefully, our 2nd baby. I started showing at 7 weeks with the older 2. I’m going to try to be more positive every day and I know that will take effort.

What helps you: My daughter. She’s 2 and so funny (really. She told us so this morning and just burst out into infectious laughter – I couldn’t help but laugh). She keeps me distracted from all of this.

Share a pic of anything (BFP, ultrasound, pet, funny gif): I’m not going to obsess over my BFP this time around. I’ll share a photo of my daughter. She’s so loving and energetic and fun.
