hogoboom2012 :  YAY! I hope it sorts itself out soon.

I thought I’d give an update.  We saw/heard the heartbeat today at our dating ultrasound. 6w1d. Officially a day further than the m/c last cycle.  I cried when she played the heartbeat.  I was not at all expecting to do that.  I also didn’t realize I’d been holding my breath.  She remembered us from our first (she didn’t do my m/c ultrasound) and she was so nice.  She asked about our son’s heart (we had to do follow ups with a higher level hospital after the scan with her) and how my broken foot healed (I was in a cast the last time I was pregnant.)  It was so sweet that she remembered us and I always feel like I’m in such good hands with her.  I had to drive 90 minutes, but it was worth it.

I still have to catch up with everyone but it’s been rough for me–in and out of L&D. Now my Braxton Hicks like to come at regular intervals :/ Doc can’t really explain why and gave me meds but it’s a class C med and it won’t stop labor so I’m not about to put my babies at risk just to make myself more comfortable. No bed rest since I’m not experiencing any cervical changes but I’m nervous for the next few weeks since this is when your cervix starts to shorten and I’m having regular false labor contractions almost everyday…Praying I make it to at least 28 weeks. Hope all is well with everyone and I’ll respond individually soon.

Aqualov :  Thank you for the well-wishes. I would say an increase in appetite is good thing!

RunnerBride13 :  Yes, so I won’t be switching given that I for sure need a level 3 NICU. I’m 25 weeks today so still on the cusp of viability.

Novella :  Congrats!!!!

Babies weighed 1lb 8oz and 1lb 10 oz at my ultrasound last week so that’s good news. Except the boy apparently has a wide head (wide forehead and normal circumference). My MFM asked if either of us were of southeast asian descent and my husband is part Maori (only like 1/16th though), but I still worry something is wrong even though everything is good so far. Still dealing with a ton of braxton hicks (35-49 a day so far). Now they like to come at regular intervals for about an hour at a time and then suddenly go away or drop-off to 4-6 an hour. DH and I are always on pins and needles for that hour bc if they go on for 2 hours we know we need to rush to the hospital 🙁 Nothing  makes them stop–not walking around, putting my feet up, drinking water, etc. But DH read that they keep the placentas healthy so hopefully that’s true.

sostobe :  yay for a heartbeat!!!  That’s wonderful news.  I’m so glad you like your doctor – she sounds amazing and so sweet.

Ham1320 :  oh wow.  I’m so sorry your pregnancy has been so scary so far!  I hope they stay in there really tight and well past 28 weeks!!

I’m anxious for our scan this week. I had a cyst burst last night and it scared the crap out of both DH and I. I’ve dealt with them at home before but never while pregnant or away from home at a work event.  I called the nurse but she said I didn’t need to go to the ER because they couldn’t do anything beyond further pain control anyway and she was happy to get the doctor to call in something for me instead to save $$.  So, I’m just on orders to lay low, drink lots and as I feel better I can do more.   As long as I could tell it wasn’t a tortion and just a rupture, I was fine and baby would be fine too.

Ham1320 :  So sorry you are dealing with all that, how scary. Hopefully BH slow down soon. Are you off work? Can the Drs do anything preventative?

So… I just got a BFP tonight on a Wondfo and I’m elated but also really nervous. My first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks, and it started with a late BFP. (Negative tests at 11 dpo, a faint positive on FRER at 13 dpo.) Then I got pregnant with my son, who is 19 months old, and with him I had a positive at 11 dpo.

I got a negative – like maaaaybe a squinter but not really – on both a Wondfo and a digital on Thursday of last week, but tested tonight because my period was officially super late and got a pretty dark positive. The last time we went to Pound Town was three weeks ago, so I feel like – shouldn’t it have come up positive last Thursday? Ugh. Half of me is like “don’t get excited” but the other half is like, “too late, I’m excited!”

Had my 8 week scan today at the OB office and she said baby is measuring perfectly and everything looks great. HB was 178.  The downside is I still have 3 cysts there.  I see the RE tomorrow (hopefully to graduate!) and they’ll do another ultrasound to compare size and location of the cysts.  The only plus side to the cysts right now is that we’ll get a 10 week ultrasound out of this too!
