phoebephoebo:  I am ok- in a lot of pain today as the miscarrying has officially begun.  Glad to be able to move forward from this though.

I actually talked to my doc’s office about that, and they said now that I’ve had two with the same time frame in such a small window, I qualify for the testing, so once this is all confirmed completed (HCG 0) they are going to schedule me to go in for the testing.  To be honest I’m tired of getting blood drawn— 4x in two weeks and have to go back Monday for another! I am getting a big bruise on my arm because my other arm is not compliant with getting blood drawn so righty gets all the hard work!

In the meantime, I’ve started a new eating plan since I’ve been eating absolute garbage since the morning sickness first started and then the loss/depression had me wanting comfort food.  I also have to get back into working out– I’m worried that the decrease in activity and increase in weight/ unhealthy foods is doing bad things for my thyroid (which wasn’t an issue in February, but I was doing much better with food and exercise then).

phoebephoebo:  That sucks so badly that you have to wait so long to see a doctor!! I’d be furious too.  Do you mind me asking how did you find out/confirm the mc, and why can’t you go back to whoever told you for treatment?  I’m sure everything in Ireland is different than here…  Will you opt for a d&c?  I know that if (God forbid) I ever have to go through this again I would do it.  Definatley for the testing aspect of it, but also I found that natural just took too long and it seemed really drawn out.  (I’m still testing positive on hpts, even though my temp dropped below coverline today).  Oh ya, and my stagette weekend was awesome…we went downtown Vancouver and partied it up real good.  Glad you had a good night our with your friends, well deserved!

So, I had another blood draw yesterday and my HCG is down to 9. The nurse told me that they weren’t going to keep testing me, but that I should get my “cycle” in about a week or so. I assumed she meant my period, and I was so excited, but when I hung up the phone I started questioning that. Do you think by my “cycle” she meant my period, or a whole cycle as in my body should start gearing up to ovulate in about a week? Is it possible to get my period in a week if my HCG is 9 right now?

phoebephoebo:  I would do a D&C 100%. I would have opted for that at the beginning, but my doc wanted to do it with meds. It was only 2 months later that they started talking D&C because I was still bleeding.

I’ve actually been having a difficult time since my due date passed. I’ll be sitting at work and think, “I should be on maternirty leave.” Just everyday stuff makes me think about the fact that I should be taking care of a newborn now. There’s actually 3 people that I work closely with every day who have had or are waiting for babies this week. And I keep looking at the August mommy thread to torture myself even further.

MrsBananas:  I MC’d on Christmas Eve, and had +HPTs until the end of February. So I know how frustrating that is. It was dreadful.

laceygrace:  My last Hgc draw was 6 and a few days later I got a +OPK, and then AF 2 weeks later.

GrannyPantiesRock:  Thanks! I’m actually getting it done this morning. So I’m feeling a bit better about it now.

Im so sorry that you’re feeling this way. It is really hard. To be honest, I really didn’t think any of us from the beginning of the last thread would still be here. It’s horrible to be working with others with similar due dates. I’m in that position with a really good friend and I’ve had to take a step back. I really hope that we get our rainbow babies soon.

All done now, not too bad and relieved for it to be over!

Andthepupmakes3:  Ah, Im sorry you’re in pain. Could you get any meds from your doctor? At least the process is starting. I think the waiting is just awful. I’m with you on the weight/exercise thing. I gained 13lbs between the mc and recovery last time and then only lost half. Of course Ive gained again and feel like a slob! I’ve booked in to do a ‘body transformation’ thing with a friend in September, which is weigh ins, classes and personal training. I wouldn’t do it while TTC but would like to get back on track now while waiting. Hopefully the diet plan and exercise will help you get back on track and feel better. It’s a lot for you to go through emotionally in the past few months. Hope you’re doing ok. I’m delighted they’re doing testing for you. Hopefully you will get answers and they’ll be able to help xxx

laceygrace:  Ivdidnt do bloods last time but tracked my hcg levels on cheapie pregnancy tests. I got AF two weeks after the line was ‘barely there’.

MrsBananas:  Thank God I got sorted. Another girl I know had to go to a different hospital. I’m so lucky my husband has good insurance. This girl was a public patient.

You can only go for scheduled appointments in the hospitals but for some reason I just knew something was wrong (same happened last time). So I booked in to a ‘scan centre’. They don’t diagnose. They only give ‘an impression’.

Im delighted your stagette went well. Do they tend to be ‘wild’ in Canada? I’d love to go to Vancouver. It’s on my bucket list. My friend was there and to Ucelet (Sp?) and said the trip was amazing.

4littlekitties:  You poor thing! You really are strong, I’m barely dealing with just this. I really hope things look up for you and that you get positive results in your testing and your mom turns a corner soon.

laceygrace:  I’m trying to figure this stuff out too.  From what I read some women don’t ovulate in the cycle after a mc but some do.  If your hcg is 9 you’re definately on the verge of either ovulating or AF.  Hard to say really, but I would lean toward gearing up to ovulate as

GrannyPantiesRock: said and maybe you’ll O soon.  Are you temping or using opk’s?

GrannyPantiesRock:  That sucks that you had +hpts for so long.  I don’t want to rehash a painful memory, but how far along were you?  Do you know how high your hcg was at the time?  Mine was at 32,000 2 weeks prior to my MC and last I checked at 130 12 days post mc.  I really hope I get a negative test soon.

phoebephoebo:  I’m glad you got it sorted and were able to get treatment right away.  You gotta come to Vancouver at least once, it’s so beautiful.  It’s a huge trip but worth it if you see more of N.America too.  Stagettes here can be what you make of it.  The norm in my circle of friends is a daytime activity (wine tasting, pedicures, or something more adventurous etc) then dolled up for dinner and usually ends up at a club somewhere.  I’ve been to some ‘wild’ ones where we could barely function the next day but this one was on the tamer side.  My gf who organized it booked a “Butler in the Buff” who came to our hotel, poured drinks for us and played drinking games.  It was the silliest thing but awesome at the same time!

MrsBananas:  I was one day shy of 9 weeks at the ultrasound and they said the fetus had stopped growing only 3 days prior. I’m not sure what my Hcg was at that time because I hadn’t had blood drawn in the month prior and they only started monitoring the decrease a few weeks after the MC.

Gah, that pic was way larger than intended!  Sorry!

GrannyPantiesRock:  Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to talk to other women to see if what I’m going through is normal, if there is such a thing…  I can see why it took you so long to get a -test, 9 weeks is alot of hormones.  While I officially passed everything at 11 weeks, my sac only measured 6.5.

MrsBananas:  Are you still waiting on your post mc AF? It’s a horrible wait! The only good thing for me is doing all the things I didn’t allow myself to do while TTC and pregnant (wine, caffeine, prawns – yum!! I had all of those last night!!!). What is your next plan? Or have you decided? I have booked in with a fertility clinic but think it may be premature!

Sounds like ours. I’ve one next weekend, adventure activity during the day and BBQ in the evening. Is that you in the photo? Love the outfit! The guy is nice too!! What a great idea!! Sounds like you had good fun.

An ex of mine lives in Vancouver now. I sometimes sneak a peak on fb. His pictures always look fab!
