It saddens me to join you but it makes my heart a little better to know I’m not alone in this, and hope to find comfort here.

Status (MC cycle/rest cycle/TTC cycle):just miscarried last Wednesday, currently still bleeding and cramping.

MC History: Issues (if any):none. This was my first pregnancy. ๐Ÿ™

Action Plan for next TTC cycle (ie Baby Aspirin, progesterone, etc): we were going to start actively trying in September but we got pregnant in august so I wasn’t aware of any procedures to follow. I think I’m just going to work on eating better, keep taking prenatals, and wait after my first cycle at least, depending on what my obg says next week.

Link to chart: none.

What are your biggest challenges right now? Not think about it, I am thinking every minute of what I did wrong, what I should have done ๐Ÿ™

Current coping strategies/favourite inspirational quotes: taking one day at a time, grieving, and the hope that one day I’ll be able to have a baby with a healthy pregnancy.

I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss. It is one of the most traumatic and devastating experience I’ve ever had.  Not sure if you are religious or not, but I find comfort in knowing I’ll be able to see my baby one day, I’ll be able to see if it’s a girl or boy, and I’ll be able to give it all the love I have to give it.

I’m praying for everyone that has gone through this.

cherriesandcream:  Welcome, and I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort here. Please know that there is absolutely nothing that you could have done to prevent this and it is NOT your fault!!! It happens more than many people realize, and it really can just be natures way of saying that embryo would not have had a happy healthy life. Take care of yourself, and hopefully the next time will work out great ๐Ÿ™‚ *hugs*

AFM: Just got my period back after the ectopic and had my day 3 testing and base line ultrasound today. Everything went really well, uterine lining looks perfect, 3D ultrasound showed no abnormalities, and I had 15 follicles. I had 8 on the left side which is where my one tube is so I’m hoping that that one extra follicle is my miracle baby this month! My mom said she’s going to make up a cheer to route on lefty haha. She’s nuts.

cherriesandcream:  I’m so sorry you have found yourself in this group. Although, I can attest that this group of women is one of the most supportive you can ask for. I know how you feel about thinking you could have done something different. But Whitums is right, there isn’t anything you could have done. I was a stereotypical 1st time pregnant lady- no caffiene, alcohol, exercise gently until 8 weeks, etc. I did everything by the book and it still didn’t end up well. It is just nature’s decision. I struggled a long time with understanding and accepting this. Miscarriage is so common, and most of us who have faced one or more have been doing everything correctly. Just be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel everything. But try not to be so hard on whether you could have changed it.

desertgirl:  Thank you so much! I decided to take the week off from work, I just need the mental break and I just can’t deal with work right now. The doctor gave a me prescription for Vicodin, hoping I don’t need it.

Andthepupmakes3: Thank you! To improve egg quality I was taking CoQ10, DHEA (this is for diminished ovarian reserve), Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Pregnitude (myo-inotisol), omega 3s, I quit caffeine and alcohol almost a year ago, tried to limit dairy and complex carbohydrates. I got a lot of info from this book: http://www.amazon.com/Starts-Egg-Pregnant-Naturally-Miscarriage/dp/0991126904/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1413240650&sr=1-1&keywords=egg+quality

MrsNebraska: Thank you so much for the detailed description of your D&C, it has helped to ease my worries to know exactly what to expect. 13 weeks is when everyone would expect to be out of the woods, I’m so sorry! I can’t wait for the D&C, I still have pregnancy symptoms (nausea, heartburn, sore boobs) and I just want my hormone levels to get back to normal, it will help me heal.

MrsBananas:  redux:  Thank you ladies!

whitums:  Thank you! I’m so sorry about your ectopic, I hope you’re healing and starting to feel better. When can you TTC again? Wishing you all the best! Edit to add: I just saw your update, 15 follicles, that’s awesome! Congrats on the great ultrasound results.

almajele:  Thank you! Yes, my RE will have the fetal tissue genetically tested. I already had recurrent pregnancy loss testing and they couldn’t find any issues, also DH and I were tested for chromosomal translocations (karyotype testing) and we didn’t have them. I’m hoping we will get some answers from this.

4littlekitties:  Thank you! I’m hoping the pain is not as bad, but it really doesn’t matter. I just want it to be over.

Turtle83:  I had the recurrent pregnancy loss testing after my 3rd MC through my OBGYN and it also came back with nada, however after I got referred to my RE specialising in recurrent MC he ran extra panels they don’t run as part of the recurrent loss screen, as well as doing a tracking cycle of my hormones and came up with a few issues. I tested very strongly positive for anti-nuclear antibodies which research is only just being done on for its association with RMC as well having a steep progesterone drop towards the end of my cycle. They also were able to tell me that my last baby had a chromosomal issue, but there was evidence my body had been attacking the pregnancy as well. So I’m on a broad spectrum treatment plan for my current pregnancy including blood thinning injections and aspirin, prednisolone, and estrogen and pregesterone supplements. Time will tell if this method of treatment helps, because it’s still considered experimental, but it was interesting to note that it may have been several unrelated issues clubbing together causing my losses. I really hope you find something soon xx

cherriesandcream:  I’m really sorry for your loss. I second what everyone else said – no way no how was this your fault. After going through my own losses and being told about countless others I’ve had to come to the really awful conclusion that MC is a devastatingly natural part of reproduction. This way of thinking has helped me to process my losses, and feel reassurance that our rainbow baby will come. Be kind to yourself xx

Turtle83:  Thank you! I hope things go smoothly for you this week and you feel better soon. I have long cycles and it’s been almost 6 weeks since my surgery, so I will most likely ovulate around 8 weeks after the surgery which just so happens to be the exact timeline my doctor said I had to wait before trying again.

I actually just heard from my doctor’s office and my TSH levels came back high at 4.2 This happened a few months ago too, but a repeat test came back around 2.0 so nobody ever did anything about it. Now that they’re back up I’ve been put on Synthroid. This kinda sucks, but I hope it may be my answer and would explain why sometimes my bloodwork shows issues with FSH and estradiol and sometimes not.

whitums:  thanks for your words. I am starting to realize how common this is and is helping me to not beat myself up, it is hard but I’m working on it.

I’m so sorry about your ectopic, it sounds like your body is healed and ready to keep going! I’m left handed so I’ll tell you that lefty is going to be the good one ;p

may I ask what fsh and estriodol are?

cherriesandcream:  Glad you’re feeling better. None of us are just trying to blow smoke, it’s the truth, there’s nothing you could have done. Don’t forget that!

I may explain this poorly, but estradiol and FSH are both hormones that are common on initial infertility testing. Estradiol is estrogen and FSH is somehow related to your egg quality I think. Basically all those hormones work together to help you produce follicles, then a good egg, and then they trigger ovulation. If those numbers come back funky, a doctor will then look for causes and ways around the issue. Since you did get pregnant quickly (I think that’s what you had said before), I don’t think you would need to worry about any of that stuff though.

Sad to be here but unfortunately introducing myself

Status (MC cycle/rest cycle/TTC cycle): MC cycle.  I just had a miscarriage which started with spotting on Friday at 6w1d and really started on Monday at 6w4d.

MC History: This was my first pregnancy, we got pregnant the first time we tried without really charting at all.

Issues (if any): None that I know of.  My HCg is currently way down, but when I was doing home pregnancy tests early on it was getting darker as I went.  The doctor said that I am otherwise healthy, just lost the pregnancy ๐Ÿ™

Action Plan for next TTC cycle (ie Baby Aspirin, progesterone, etc): I’m going to continue taking prenatals, since I didn’t start those until just before I knew I was pregnant.  I’m also going to work on cutting out caffeine now so I don’t have any while pregnant – even before I know.  We are going to chart this month and TTA, then after my first period post MC we will chart and TTC.  If and when I’m able to get pregnant again I’m going to be better about making sure I get beta tests done to follow my numbers.  This time I didn’t get a beta test until I was massively bleeding already because my first apt. was scheduled for 2 weeks from now.

Link to chart: Just getting it started up again so not too much to show.

What are your biggest challenges right now? Getting past the very painful experience that my MC was / is…  There was a lot of cramping and bleeding and I’m a little afraid of trying again.  I’m worried since I got pregnant so easily that maybe that’s part of the problem?  If and when I do get pregnant again I’m going to be so worried for at least the first 3 months.

Current coping strategies/favourite inspirational quotes:  Right now I’m good if I’m not breaking down into tears every 5 minutes…

missadventure85:  I’m very sorry for your loss.  We are all here for you.  I hope your pain goes away soon.  I too get pregnant easily so I worry about that too but I also have a healthy son so it can’t be too bad of a problem.  Take care of yourself.
