AFM, after a late period, several BFN’s and a lot of symptoms, I got a positive test today. Out of respect, I will hop over to the other board. Sadly, I’m not yet very optimistic because I keep thinking about last time, but I hope that I will have reason to be. I can’t thank you ladies enough for keeping me going over these last 5 months. I really hope 2015 will be a good year for everyone and that our rainbow babies will arrive.

MechEBee:  Men don’t understand and can be pretty retarded about the whole thing. I still get irriated with Darling Husband. I know part of it is me. i’m angry that he can’t hurt as much as me, and I also feel mad when he acts as though he experienced a loss… like he doesn’t have the right. I know that makes no sense, but I’ve given up on trying to understand the way I feel.

SaltedCaramel:  I don’t know exactly what Vit. D is for, but my RE checked my levels and they were low… she said almost everyone’s are low if you check them. I don’t know what it’s function is in fertility. Most studies seem to be related to IVF, but those patients who were supplemented were significantly more likely to carry healthy pregnancies than those who did not. So it’s good enough for me.

SaltedCaramel:  It sounds like you had a sucessful appointment.  Good for you.  i agree that too much additional monitoring wouldn’t really be too helpful in preventing another MC, and might just cause extra stress, but it sounds like she is willing to do what she resonably can.

MrsNebraska:  Sorry that you can’t get a clear-cut solution to moving or not moving.  It sounds like your being very proactive in putting presure on him to make a decission though.

auggiefrog:  Glad you are feeling better and moving forward.  Yes, the limbo state sucks.  I had my last MC in Sept. and I have to wait till end of Feb to TTC so I can follow my RE’s plan.  I feel so behind.

PenelopeQ:  I’m taking 5k IU of vit D twice a day.

SaltedCaramel:  I have friends that already had their baby at my Nov EDD.  I plan on seeing one this weekend.  Right now I feel ok about it but I won’t know till it happens.  My friend also suffered a MC before this baby so I’m really happy for her.  Mixed emotions for sure!  I’m glad your appointment went well and that your doctor helped validate your feelings.  It’s nice to have a caring doctor.

MechEBee:  Sorry for you loss and I hope you get the all clear at you checkup.

MrsNebraska:  That is weird that you got AF so early.  I’ve had regular and irregular cycles since my last MC so I guess it just takes some time for our bodies to regulate.  Gosh, if it wasn’t enough for your Darling Husband finally make a decision then his boss has to stir in more confusion.  Hope you two can figure it out soon.

SaltedCaramel:  I have read about low vit D levels and people taking a super dose! It supposed to help with egg quality. I have no idea if my levels are low but I guess it makes sense if you are mostly indoors for the Vit D to be on the lower side.

The body makes Vit D naturally after sun exposure.

SaltedCaramel:  I’m glad you had a great visit. I think that when it comes to your body and your future baby you should follow your gut. If you need extra betas and some early progesterone, ask for it. I know what your doctor means about getting worried for nothing. But once you have a miscarriage, you are probably going to be stressed anyways. Maybe those extra blood tests will help you with anxiety.

I had a great session with my therapist yesterday. I know I should be more upset about miscarriage #3 last month. But somehow that chemical taught me that we are not experience flukes, there is something going on and we need extra medical help. I also feel that I am doing as much as I can to be a healthy Mama and that includes the 18 pills I take a day between prenatals, extra folic acid, DHA, metformin and baby aspirin. I am trying to be more positive, somedays it works some days doesn’t.

I am really tempted to go and get some Vit D. But I shouldn’t right? i should talk with my OB first right? My prenatal has only 400 IU, and with so many months of winter and cold, I don’t get too much sun. I should wait right?

PenelopeQ:  You have to take a ton of vit D for it to be a problem. “Taking 50,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity.” That’s from mayoclinic.org. It’s sold over the counter. My RE has me taking 4000 IU (2 pills)  once a day.
