phillybride61513:  I have no idea what’s normal with progesterone as it has made my cycle unpredictable a couple of times. Hence why I’m asking for everyone else’s experiences. I do know that one time while on progesterone (oral form) it made AF come about 10 days early; talk about pissed.

Just an update… I got all my test results back from my bloodwork for RPL and I have the A1298C version of MTHFR. My doctor and MTHFR.net say that this version of MTHFR is really nothing to worry about and that it just means that my body doesn’t convert folic acid like it should. Doc says if I want to do something I can take 3-4mg of folate a day (which I will), but if I don’t supplement folate then no harm done. I ordered the supplements recommended by MTHFR.net and hopefully they’ll get here soon. I’m hoping that this was our barrier to having our rainbow baby and that once it’s fixed we’ll have healthy pregnancies from here on out. Wish me luck ladies!

Still no responses on the progesterone discussion yet?

leahdany:  I can’t contribute regarding the progesterone but just wanted to say that I hope the folate does the trick for you and you get your much deserved rainbow 🙂

All this progesterone talk is making me nervous for whenever we try again. I had my high risk specialist appt today. There is no cause for my pprom (which we knew) and nothing that can really be done BUT next time I would be starting on progesterone shots (p17) once a week from week 16-36 with repeat c-section at 37 weeks IF we conceive again. I’d also get constant monitoring of the baby and my cervix for any signs of preterm labor. She also agreed to test my thyroid and for any clotting disorders including MTHFR mutations. She said that she has one and 30% of people have them and never need treatment so it might not change much for me. She said I could take baby aspirin in the beginning of pregnancy of it made me feel better. She said that ruptured membranes rarely repeats itself, but I’m still at risk for preterm labor Since I’ve had it once before. :/ so overall not incredibly assured but it’s a start. I have a therapist appt Tuesday, so I’m hoping she can help me too.

FreckledFox:  Can I ask why your doctor suggested progesterone later in the pregnancy and not early on? I ask because most people and my doctor included think if you’re going to take progesterone you start early. I’m sure your doctor knows best so just listen to her, I was just curious since I’ve never heard that before. I’m also taking baby aspirin and have been since April. At least all the things they are testing you for are treatable if you do run into anything. As for your therapy appointment I hope that goes really well and that you are able to come out of it feeling better, even if it’s only a little bit. Is your husband going too or is just you?

leahdany:  They are giving me progesterone shots later in the pregnancy because my issue was preterm labor and the shots are supposed to help prevent that. I can get pregnant I guess and stay pregnant sort of, it’s just the super early labor part I had issues with last time. If I a had history of miscarriage, then I would be taking progesterone from the beginning. They are going to test my progesterone in my next pregnancy as early as they can, and if it’s low, then I probably WILL be taking earlier too. Maybe a different form. Do you take shots, pills, cream or suppositories? And my therapy appointment is just for me because my husband is actually doing very well on his own. I think I need the extra help. Especially with ptsd from birth.

FreckledFox:  Okay thanks for the clarification. I take the pill form but I want to try the suppositoties but our insurance won’t cover it and it’s about $330+ for a month supply.

4 DPO and this TWW feels like a year. The past two days I have been so bummed for some reason… I think mostly due to FB (which I’ll be deactivating this weekend for a while). Yet ANOTHER friend announced her pregnancy yesterday and TWO babies were born today. I mean really, universe? Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world not KU!

HaaaveYouMetTed:  right there with ya. I had a tough week with work and between that and not being pregnant (and seeing/hearing about other people) I complained to my mom that the unfair fairy really slapped me around this week. I’m 5. Fingers crossed u get good news in a week or so!

MechEBee:  hi cycle buddy! I’m cd13 too and go in for monitoring Sunday. Depending on what they say about IUI and trigger etc will determine my POAS date. I’d have to take a couple sticks with me on vacation so it might be a good idea to leave them home so I can’t even tempt myself. Do u have a date for POAS?

Well I have no idea what dpo I’m on or if I even O’d. I’ve NEVER O’d past CD13 and here I am CD15 with no +OPK. I’m going to assume I’ve already O’d but I’ll keep testing until CD20. Blah…
