Hi BurlapAndLace,

You mean this one, right? http://www.theknot.com/wedding-dress/judd-waddell/contact%20designer4051?src=par

I tried on this one when I was dress shopping, and it is amazing! I was the first one to get to try it on at this particular bridal salon, and I loved it! I ultimately ended up picking a different Judd Waddell. (This one: http://www.theknot.com/wedding-dress/judd-waddell/contact-designer-11?src=par). All of the Judd dresses fit very well, and would be a great choice. At least where I tried mine on, the one you are talking about cost $3600, so you should be fine.

I just picked up my dress, and it is great. I still love it, but you should be slightly careful if you buy a Judd Waddell. My dress is currently hanging in the closet, waiting for alterations, but I noticed a couple days ago that the seam under my left arm is starting to fray a little bit. I imagine that whoever made my dress sewed the seam with slightly less fabric than they should have, and after trying my dress on and moving around, it ripped out a little because there was not enough fabric to really hold the seam. This is not a big deal, and I am sure my seamstress will be able to fix it, but for the amount of money that the dress cost it shouldn’t have happened. Check your dress very carefully before you leave the store, and after moving around in it some! I have been looking around, and I can’t find anyone else who says anything about the construction of Judd Waddell wedding gowns, but this is something to consider. Who knows if this happens occasionally on all designer wedding gowns?

Good luck picking your dress!

I am also a judd waddell bride!!! There was only 1 store in Massachusetts that carried him too and I kind of like that…no as many of his dresses floating around :).

His dresses (from what i’ve seen and felt) are timeless and classic.  He worked formally for Carolina Herrera and on his website he mentions that his goal in every dress is “to notice the woman first, and then the dress.”  I LOVED that.  That’s how i feel when I put on mine :).  I felt that so many wedding dresses were so over powering, you could barely see me.  I love his designs and the one you like is a stunner!

Judd is currently working hard on my wedding dress 😉 (expected in May back to the store)…so excited for it.  AlliRae: thank you for the heads up regarding the seams! I’ll make sure i take a good look before leaving.

And yes, $5K is plenty for his dresses.  All that I saw were in the $2500-$5K range.

I loved Judd Waddell dresses! I think the ones I saw were under 5000…maybe around 3000 (over my budget!)?

I almost bought a JW dress.  Not all dresses look as good in person as they do in photos but his were so stunning.

If you want to see more pics of real brides in his dresses you should scour sites like preownedweddingdresses.com or oncewed.com and look up JW dresses.  Lots of listings come with real photos too.

Good luck, I hope you find a dress that works well for you!

Does anyone have real pictures of themselves in this Judd Waddell dress?  I’m really curious to see how it looks on. Thanks!

@SummerBride26:  Hi-  This is my wedding dress for my July wedding in Provence.  I wanted to let you know it’s much more beautiful on and in person.  I’m putting a long creme satin bow on the belt application.  Let me know if you have any questions.

@klandry:  Hi…This is my dress too!! I do like it a lot better in person. Thanks for the tip. My dress hasn’t come in yet but can wait to try it on again. I ordered extra covered buttons to continue down the zipper.
