I have never heard that before, and it wouldn’t make me change the date. By that logic, you could probably argue that any date on or after May 21, 2011 is a bad date.

Where did this day of May 21, 2011 come from? I’m always skeptical about these “this will happen in the future” things. Havne’t we had quite a few judgement days already come and go?

I’ve never heard of that either.  It wouldn’t make me change my date either, but my date is September 11, 2010 which has already raised a few eyebrows as well.  At any rate, regardless of the set of numbers that accompany your date or whatever ‘stigma’ others may attach to it, it is about you and your Fiance starting on the journey to the rest of your lives together.

I’ve never heard of this before and it would not make me change my date.

However, September 11 is one date that I could not do under any circumstances.  No offense to September 11 brides, but I’m a NYer so I would never be able to think of that date in a positive way.

Here’s the thing. The bible also states that NO ONE KNOWS. That’s it. It’s God’s choice. People weren’t meant to know until the day, and he certainly doesn’t want you to live your life in fear of it. That’s not the point of it. This is the very first time I have ever heard of any of this, and no where that I can remember, do they ever give the date of the flood.

And trust me, if there was any validity to this, the crazies would be making a way bigger deal out of this than they are for Dec. 21, 2012. Whenever the Mayan calander supposedly stops (But, if you ask anyone who is an actual expert on the Ancient Maya, they will tell you it is the exact same equvalant of going from December 31 to January 1. It’s no big deal).

Hm. I guess it won’t matter if the world is destroyed???

What about the people who believe in God but who don’t belong to a church?

I’m skeptical about this kind of stuff. I’ll die when it’s my time. If it’s May 21, 2011, fine. If it’s tomorrow, so be it. It’s His choice, not mine.

I agree with Hotchild…I could never have chosen my date as September 11.  But I wouldn’t think much of the May 21st.

How many times have people predicted Judgement Day, the end of the world, etc?  Too numerous to count, but they all had “proof”.  I wouldn’t think twice about your wedding date.

the bible was written by people, and here’s one person telling you to get married, have a party, do a jig, do whatever you want on that day.  And the day after.  And the day after that.  If you work at it, you can manipulate days and dates and numbers any way you’d like.

Many, many different dates have been predicted over the centuries as the end of the world, the ratpure, judgment day, whatever you want to call it by many different religious groups.

I wouldn’t worry for a second about the date you chose.

I think it’s a crock. I completely agree with Puggy. I don’t subscribe to any of this sort of thing.

No, that wouldn’t make me rethink the date.  I have no idea where that website got it’s numbers from – but there have been ‘doomsday’ prophecies for years and years… people using all sorts of calendars, trying to predicts dates.   There’s nothing in the Bible that reveals anything about a specific date/time – on the contrary – it says no one knows but to be ready.
