@mcarrizales:  Oh dear Gus. I have a lot left to pay off; I’ve been putting it off for a few weeks now because I just graduated college this past Friday. I’m getting REALLY excited, but also EXTREMELY nervous/tense.

How are you doing?

We still have to finish paying the venue/caterer, photographer, DJ, Florist, and our Pie Guy (no cake).

We accomplished a lot this past weekend, so I am feeling pretty relaxed now. We made our favours (120+ jars of homemade salsa), I found my shoes (stressful), chose our linens, finalized our meal and wines, had our engagement photos taken, and decided how we will display our favours.

I have a little black notebook with my list of everything I need to do for the wedding (My mom laughs at all my lists because she figures everything should be ready to go). It’s all just little stuff now, but I have it broken right down to “buy this”, “then trim this”, and “then make this”.

– wrap and tag our favours

– pick up wedding bands

– order my wedding day jewellery

– Make the seating chart

– Make the table names/decorations for the tables

– Order thank yous for the shower and the wedding

– Make a sample table layout so my day-of person knows how I want the tables in the hall to look.

– Design and order our guest book (and find pens)

– Finish my something blue garter

– Order the shirts for the Groomsmen

– Buy groomsmen gifts

– find a “cake” topper

– Choose all our songs (for ceremony, first dances, etc)

– Get on my Future Mother-In-Law in regards to the rehearsal dinner she wants to have.

As of Saturday it will be 8 weeks. I am getting so excited!

EEEEEK!!! I can’t believe how suddenly the date seems to be arriving. I have a… LOT more to do. Mostly surrounding the “somewhat DIY” food for our 2.5/3 hour lunch reception. I’m so stressed about that that I don’t even want to talk about it, so let’s move on to some of the less intense “to do” items. :}

– pay off venues

– finish bridesmaid gifts

– hem dress (I made it) & sew in zipper

– get shower dress (we’re having a REALLY late-in-the-game shower because a family friend suddenly wanted to throw one)

– get “preception” dress/outfit

– make playlist for reception

– make reception schedule for my brother (the MC)

– make sure FH is making progress with rings/honeymoon/preception (his tasks)

– design programs

– order compostable plates/utensils

– make rental order for a few bistro tables etc.

– make ceremony trees

– cut out fabric hearts for guest book (eventually to be made into quilt)

– one more premarital counselling meeting with pastor

– decide on special reading for wedding?! Or not?!

– (I said I wasn’t going to…) meet with chef friend again about food

– delegate tasks for morning of

– book hotel room for night before

– do massive update of wedsite

– send invites [on monday!!!!]

I don’t know if writing this makes me feel better or worse. I’m really, really excited though. I can’t wait. :}

56 days to go!

I didn’t think I had that much to do but thinking about it, it does seem like a lot:

– Final payments to all vendors

– Dress fitting

– Collect all RSVPs and finalise numbers (already received three, yay!)

– Food tasting and finalise menu

– Book hair cut and colour

– Book tanning and nails

– Email DJ with music list

– Buy thank-you cards for bridal shower

– Attend my bridal shower!

– Confirm readings and running order of ceremony with officiant

– Make arrangements for bags etc for the day after (we are staying in a hotel for two nights)

I have just finished uni for the semester, but I have two weeks of teaching placement in June so those weeks are pretty much ruled out for planning (unless I get my grade five students to do wedding stuff in art class, haha).

40 days! I just got an email from our DJ/MC to schedule a meeting and Fiance is driving me NUTS trying to pick songs for the first dance, bridal party entrance, etc. He just cannot make up his mind!

@littlebeanpole:  That’s okay, mine doesn’t seem to be in a rush for this at all. He’s in charge of DJ, and needs to have them conact our venue… “we’ve got time, don’t worry, I’ll do it.” He is such a procrastinator. I feel like a nag asking him to do it over and over again.

I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed. I made a list of all the little things because the big things are all done. But the little things are unbelieveable ( two pages of items) I swore I wasn’t going to get in this situation but I am and now I need to get my ass in overdrive.

Is anyone starting to panic yet? 30 days to go! I have so many lists started. I am trying to get the majority of projects done by July 1st. Has anyone had to start calling people who didn’t rsvp? I put my rsvp deadline as June 30th and about 1/3 still have not rsvpd!!!
