We’ve got our venue, DJ, and photographer booked. Dress has been ordered. Just sent out the Save the Dates yesterday. Now it’s all the smaller things… need to go dress shopping with the bridesmaids, get invites done (mailed out in April), etc… We’re slowly getting there!

We have a venue and caterer.  Interviewed photographers, djs last week so should have them booked by early next week.  Now onto to find a dress!

All I really have left to do is the flowers and cake, both of which I am planning to be done with by the end of January. After that, it’ll be DIY projects galore!

We’re doing pretty awesomely. We have our venues booked, photographer, videographer, our reception venue is going to cater for us so we just need to finalise the menu, we have a women doing our cake, another woman doing our flowers, we just got our cake topper in the mail the other day, I have my dress and shoes and we’re working on our invitations and favour boxes as I type! Tomorrow we’re going to pick up FH’s wedding ring and yell at managers and things about mine.

Phew! Still feels like we have a lot to do….

I already have booked:

  • the restaurant where we’ll celebrate our wedding
  • the photographer
  • the videographer
  • the church 😉
  • the DJ
  • the florist

What I’ve done else:

  • bought and send out invitations (I did it pretty early, because we don’t have Save-the-date cards and half of the guests are coming from abroad, so they and we need to plan a lot)
  • bought dress and tuxedo
  • bought wedding rings
  • finished favors for the ladies, made a card box, designed our programs (not finished yet), started bridesmaid survival kits, made wreaths, made table cards, made table numers, started seating chart

there’s still so much to do. But I think I can handle it within the next half year (OMG!!!!).

We’ve just printed all the invitations and invitation inserts for our overseas guests (we’re waiting on the rest of the cardstock being delivered… another week…. before we do them for all our “local” guests). Eek! Have to assemble them at some point this week.

We have most of our major vendors (venue, photographer, florist, DJ, planner, officiant, invitations), but those were easy — now come all the little details that threaten to overwhelm me.

This month I hope to start my dress (I’m having it made), book the ceremony musicians, meet with the florist & DJ, and finish our website. For FH, he’s planning to ask his cousins to be groomsmen, and buy our honeymoon plane tickets. We should probably think about finding a cake somewhere. (?)

We’ve got a lot of stuff done for the wedding itself… but there’s still SO much to do!!  Now I’m worried about things like:

– Figuring out the rehearsal dinner

– Figuring out the Sunday brunch

– Finding a cake baker

– Designing invitations / Programs / Cocktail menus / Escort cards / etc.

– All the rest of our DIY projects

Unfortunately a lot of places in Bar Harbor are closed for the season right now, so it has been really hard lately to get in touch with actual human beings up there 🙁
