Hello Brides! I am getting married July 28, 2012. So far we have…
- The Venue (Ceremony and Reception)
- Booked the Honeymoon Condo (Through a timeshare advanced reservation required)
- The Caterer/ Baker
- The Officiant
- The Music and Entertainment
- The Dress
- Started shopping for my veil and accessories.
- Started invitation shopping and design.
- Started florist shopping.
- A tentative guest lists.
- Gathered address, and e-mail contacts for all guests.
- Started assembling small decor items (Guest book, Toasting Flutes etc.)
I am also a teacher, however our last day of school is May 30th. So I will have lots of free time leading up to my wedding day to deal with any last minute details. I am so happy to have found a place to chat with other July 2012 brides!

Yah!! I’m so excited to have found this thread and don’t feel so bad for all the planning that I have done. Lots of people have wondered why I have done so much already, but this makes me feel better 🙂
So far this is what we have:
- ceremony and reception locations (same place)
- caterer (part of venue)
- photographer and engagement photos booked for june
- decorater and we’ve decided what we are doing for sure already
- cake (will finalize and put down deposit in the summer)
- DIY invites are pretty much done
- MY DRESS!!!
- guest list
- SUV limo booked
I like to plan, so the sooner things are done, the less stress I will have closer to the wedding 🙂

Wow…you girls are on top of things. Makes me feel like I should be doing more. Our destination wedding in Colorado is July 7, 2012. At this point, I have:
-Booked reception venue
-Have ceremony location held, doing contract this month
-Hired wedding planner
-Decided on general colors/theme
-Priest chosen, but have to work out requirements for Catholic service when I am not Catholic and doing it outdoors (not sure if he can outside of a church).
-Setup a visit to the location here in a few weeks – will block hotels, do some tastings, visit a few photographers, etc.
-Have tentatively booked our band, but not signed contract yet.
Am I way behind??? I was going to start looking at dresses more in the early Fall. I hate such a long wait for the wedding, but we wanted Colorado and the weather to be okay, so have to wait till mid summer for a mountain wedding. So excited, though…just wished it was sooner.

Just got enaged June 16, and set the date for July 14, 2012! People keep telling me that I’m wayyyy ahead, but I feel like I’m right on pace (or even a bit behind!) with what you ladies have done. Here’s what we’ve checked off…
- date set
- reception and catering booked
- photographer booked
- bridal party selected and asked
- rough guest list
- budget set
Currently I’m working on booking the ceremony site and picking out the dress. Hope to have both of those finalized before the end of the month.

Our wedding is set for July 1, 2012! We got engaged March 13, 2011 and I’m already shocked with how fast time is already flying!! So far we have accomplished…
– Reception venue
– Engagement photos
– Ordered save-the-dates
– Chosen (not ordered) invitations
– Ordered wedding dress
– Chose Bridesmaid or Best Man dress color (they’re picking their own knee-length dresses)
Next up on our to-do list is:
– Pre-cana (we’re getting married in the catholic church)
– Booking limos
– Meeting with florists
– Looking into possible honeymoon locations
I LOVE LOVE LOVE wedding planning… I totally don’t know what I’m going to do with my time once the wedding is over next year!
And in response to the debate about when to send out Save-The-Date Cards…. we’re planning on sending ours out in August. I’m not too concerned about them getting lost in a stack of mail because we’re doing magnets. And also, since our wedding is close to the 4th of July AND is in the summer (popular vacation time!), we want to get ours out there early so people don’t already have vacations planned OR those who are travelling in can plan a vacation in our area (Jersey shore, anyone?!) for around the wedding. If it wasn’t a summer wedding I would totally wait until about 8 months out to send the Save-The-Date Cards. Just my opinion though, everyone is different!
