Wow, yeah this has all become very real for me. Even though we have almost everything done, we’re still hammering out details. Wedding planning took a backseat for a while since we’re in the middle of buying a house. But now looking at how fast the wedding is approaching, we have some tasks to get done! Things I still have left to do are…
Dress alterations (had originally planned on a friend of a friend but she doesn’t have time so now I have to go to a local shop)
Finish the flower girl basket
Buy the food service items – my family and I are doing the food
Find parent, vendor, Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen gifts
Finish rehearsal dinner invites
Schedule hair/makeup trial
Finish up the ceremony with the officiant
I’m feeling a little stressed today!

What do you have yet to do? My venue said I didn’t look that far behind after my consultation with them (they provide a day-of coordinator). I think if you have the big stuff booked like venue, officiant, catering, and bar service, and clothing, you can pull the rest out in a pinch if need be.
Part of my problem is that Fiance doesn’t want me to pick the vest and pants I want the guys to wear because he thinks they are too expensive & they can’t be rented (they have to be bought) and they come out to be about $200 for the whole outfit, including shoes. I think it’s dumb that they can’t spend that much considering that my BM’s are from Florida & I live in MI and they have to pay to fly up here, plus their outfits cost a little over $100, and they also have to get their hair done.

I have nothing for the day-of coordinated! I have lots of ideas in my head, but dont have them planned out with how they will go time-wise. I have some crafting to do still, and I am DIYing my flowers the day of.
As for the groomsmen…tell them to suck it up! $200 for an outfit that they get to keep?! That’s a really good price! My groomsmen are renting a vera wang tux for $200 each and all they get to keep are the socks! Explain to your Fiance that what they’re getting is well worth the price whether it was rented or bought, but considering they keep it, its definitely a bargain!

Thanks for the validation on the groomsmen attire! I was starting to think I was going to have to wrap them in a burlap sack and roll them down the aisle in order to keep their outfits “cost effective” lol 🙂
As for “day of” I have no idea either. I know that in the beginning of July my venue coordinator will sit down with me and make a timeline, but it’s really difficult to conceptualize in my own head right now, and my entire event (beginning of ceremony to end of reception) is only about 4 hours, so I feel like it’s all going to be rushed.
I’m sure we will both work it out! 🙂

Now I’m stressed!!! I feel like I am so behind after reading these posts. I have so many little details to cover that I feel like it will never be finished!

I think a lot of these people are just pretty far ahead.
Not to worry, there are many of us that feel like you 🙂

@drivingmissdaisy85: Well lets see, I haven’t ordered my flowers yet but thats because I am DIYing them and the florists wont quote me exact prices for daisies til june, I am getting my roses from costco so no big deal there.
I picked up my dress today alterations are all done I am in love with it all over again I just have to try it on a couple weeks before the wedding again to make sure it fits.
I have to finish my guestbook that I am making, start my “here comes the bride” sign, cut out my runners, decide what time my dj starts and when my photographer ends. Talk to the officiant, get the marriage lisence, finish getting supplies for my centerpieces, get final numbers so i know how many tables I have….work on my music list…I know what song I am walking down the aisle to and thats about it….print some pictures for some craft projects that I am doing for the wedding, decide if I am doing programs or not, buy the packaging for the favours…make the favours (caramel popcorn) will do that closer so its not stale…find earrings this is a job and a half….ask the MC to MC….find a bartender….figure out what fi wants to get his groomsmen, yah lots of little things 🙁 this is getting stressful
so in short no i am not done planning!

The big stuff is done. If we fell asleep tomorrow and didn’t wake up until the week of the wedding, we’d be covered. I’m just finishing up the details like centerpieces, cake stand, other decor, escort cards. I’m trying so hard not to get overly stressed, but it’s hard when I’ve got one eye on the calendar. Home stretch, ladies!!

I have to do the food tasting and get my FI’s suit organised, fortunately we’re starting to get that done tomorrow!
