Well Bees I was wondering if any 7/27/13 Date twins wanted to join a support post on the Bee.
A post in which we can support each other with all our planning stress
All our failed and successful DIYs
A post where we can urge a date twin to get off her butt and start that DIY project, send those Save-The-Date Cards out, get those BMS up and about…lol
I know it can be stressful cause I only have three things crossed off my list:
My wedding date
My STD design
So share the stress and joys. ♥ Mz Izzie

- tent/chair/ tables are being neogitated
What I need to do:

July 27th for us too!!
What I have done:
– My Dress
Need to do in the near future:
– Tasting for caterer
– Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses
– Figure out what type of ceremony we want and find a Justice of the Peace
I am most stressed out about figuring out how our ceremony will go. I have no clue what I want. Fiance and I are both people who hate being in the spot light, so we don’t want to write our own vows. We don’t want to do the long repeat after me and we don’t want any sand or candle ceremony things. Good thing I have plenty of time to figure it out!

I’m July 27 too!! I have most of the “big” things done and now it’s just more of working on smaller details. I suck at DIY so I won’t be doing too many of those!
What I have done
- Dress.. should be here in April!
- Bridesmaid dresses
- STD.. sent out in January
- Photographer, DJ, Cake, Venue are all set.. doing our tasting next weekend to decide on what to serve at the reception
- Honeymoon is booked
- Registering is done (but still need to edit them a little)
- Purchased our wedding bands
What I need to do:
- Flowers.. mostly just need to figure out how I want the centerpieces
- Invitations.. no clue what I want to do here, there are so many amazing choices it’s overwhelming!
- Meetings with our pastor (that’s next weekend)
- Gifts for Bridesmaids.. thinking of doing Vera Bradley makeup bags and filling them with little “supplies” they might need the wedding day, robes to get ready in and their jewelry.
- Figure out shoes and jewelry for my dress
- Decide on what the men will be wearing
- Favors.. no idea here?!

Wooohooo I feel like I had a productive wedding planning day today. I went to lunch with my Future Mother-In-Law and she is just crazy excited about the wedding. We hashed out some details about the reception and that was fun. We planned the menu (her friend is doing the catering for us), talked about flowers and reception decorations.
But then we went to her cousin, who happens to be a great cake baker, who is doing our wedding cake. We have the design picked out. I just have to sit down with FH and pick out three flavors we want for the three layers. I know one of them is going to be white cake with a strawberry filling because that’s my favorite. I don’t know what the other two will be though.
TIme really is flying by. So much still left to do. How is everyone else doing this week?
@jatelyn Im slacking this week!! I really need to get my cake and dance floor booked this week but I have not had the time or energy. Hopefully that changes soon :-/
Post # 13
I am on a roll this week! It is probably because I am on vacation this week so I actually have time to do stuff. This week I will be doing a cake tasting, doing the menu tasting, meeting with the Justice of the Peace, finalizing the contract with the photographer, getting our passports, picking center pieces, and deciding on invitations.
Hey everyone! I’m going to join the thread if you’ll have me! I got engaged about 3 weeks ago and we decided to have a short engagement so I have A TON of work to do. It really helps that we are having an intimate wedding with a maximum of 30 guests.
So far I have:
- Venue for the ceremony and reception (same place)
- Cake (free from friend)
I know pretty much everything that I want, it’s just placing them on a timeline of when to do/buy. Top priority is:
- Save the Dates – still debating if we should even do one at this point.
- Meeting with the caterer
- Getting my passport
So excited, and so much to do!

I am doing almost everything DIY so I will need opinions in the next few months 🙂
Be my bridesmaid cards
STD (I hate that acronym by the way)
Head table back drop-half done
Bridal boquet-half done
Thank you card
Hotel blocked off (an amazing $70 rate)
Make-up (part of the bridesmaids gift)
Photo guest book
OMG now I am stressed
Final bridesmaid dress decision
Find a party bus
Order groomsmen custom knives
Find tan tux
Order succulent favors
Finish the backdrop (made from free paint swatches)
Make 200 tissue paper flowers for place setting
This could go for a while and I’m sure you quit readiga while ago. I will check back with some competed DIY pics soon.
Happy planning 🙂
