I’m sorry about your dad and that you’re having a hard time getting into the planning.  Is there anything I can do to help?  I’m kind of handy on the computer.  I could send you something to print if you are dissatisfied with your invites?

Where are you getting married?  Let’s think of themes and brainstorm!

So sorry for your loss. That’s really tough. You just have to give yourself time to grieve. Sometimes you get a “grief grenade” and you just have to stop doing anything else. Give yourself the chance to grieve. You don’t have to plan it all right now.

For you invite question:

6-8 weeks is all you need before mailing the invites, but at 10 or 12 weeks, mail one to yourself to make sure everything will be accepted at the post office.

Hey, date-twin – {hugs}.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Wedding planning’s not easy, and having to grieve on top of that is just tough. My best friend was in a similar situation a few months before her wedding too (and I was useless as Maid/Matron of Honor as I was in another country), but other friends and family pulled together and helped her get everything done.

Please allow yourself the time and space that you need. I think that for us July 2 brides, time is still on our side. Fyi, we haven’t even designed our invites yet!

I just wanna give you a big hug. Take as much time as you need and go through whatever processes that will help you get through these tough times. It wasn’t too long ago that I was in those same shoes (still there) and I just wanted to give up, but I knew my beloved family members would not want that. Take time to heal, you still have time to continue with your plans if you choose. I had a 5k budget too. Have you tried Zazzle.com? I was able to find invites for 75% off and they were nice and cheap. Maybe taking some of the DIY stuff off your plate will help you to remove some stress too. I searched for coupons and discounts on everything that I purchased. Money issues can add to any problem, but finding that super discount can put a smile on your face. I wish you the best and I hope it all works out for you. (Big Hugs) Laughing

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this at once. I completely understand how overwhelming it can be to have too much on your plate, and the added stress of the budget cannot be halping. I think the best thing to do is focus on one thing at a time. If you want a really easy website you can get a free one on theknot.com you enter in some basic info, pick a template and it pretty much designs itself. Super easy (took me about an hour to set it up) and it alredy has an RSVP page set up for you!

After that one just think about one thing at a time. Message me if you want some ideas for simple ways to make centerpeices etc, and hang in there it is going to be a beautiful day!

I’m sorry for your loss, lady.

I think the wedding website is something you can take care of quickly and easily, if you choose to do so. We used mywedding.com – it was super easy and there’s an RSVP option. I think your FI’s blog idea is kind of lame – talk him out of that! 🙂

Don’t put pressure on yourself at this difficult time. Just take it at your own pace. Do you have anyone who you can lean on to help you, emotionally and/or with wedding stuff? Siblings, friends, bridesmaids? I find that sometimes at the hardest times in our lives we forget to reach out to the people who want to help.

All the best to you.
