We’re getting married July 1st and are planning on sending out invites by the end of April with an RSVP date of June 1st.  So that basically gives everyone a month to respond.

I haven’t sent mine.  The checklist on the TK says to send them out at the three month mark (which is like, now), but I think I’ll wait until May because I am trying to reduce my guestlist and we’re having a Destination Wedding.  I feel like if I wait longer, people will have already made plans or won’t be able to take time off of work with short notice so they won’t be able to come.  Bad, I know!  But, if that’s not a concern of yours the checklist thing says send them out this month.

Etiquette says 6-8 weeks unless you are having a destination wedding, I don’t understand why people send them sooner? I don’t want my guests to forget about the event! My wedding is 7/14 and my invites will be going out May 15. They are all ready to go to, stuffed, addressed and stamped!

I think 6-8 weeks is right as well.

@Pinksapphire:  I saw the checklist as well… but the woman we ordered our invitations through said mid/late may with end of june being our rsvp date giving us about 3 weeks until wedding. We got her to put the rsvp date at june 16th and we have the invites, hopefully have them out by end of april/ first week of may.

We’re mailing 8 weeks in advance, with RSVP 4 weeks before. We sent save the dates to 90% of the guest list, so that gives plenty of time.

We are going to try to send ours out the 1st week of May for our July 14 wedding with an RSVP date of June 8th.  I am going to be out of town A lot after June 8th for work conferences and a few personal things, so I wanted to allow us time to make phone calls for those who hadn’t sent theres back in.

I have just finished the wording for all the invites… i will be making them up next week and the week after and will be delivering them (or posting them) during the following 2 weeks (late April/early May). That will mean ours will be out about 9 weeks before… 🙂

Yay I’m glad to see everyone is pretty much on/around the same page with invites. I know someone getting married in October and she makes me feel like such a slacker because he wedding was basically planned in September within a week of being engaged and I hadn’t even picked a date yet. lol

Date twin! I’m sending mine out May long weekend with a due date of June 30. We’re having a small wedding, so that was enough time for us. I think if we were having a larger wedding (100+ people) I might make the due date June 15 and send out the invites May 1st or so.

We are getting married on the fourth and we already sent out our invites… and have already started getting back RSVPs (makes getting the mail so much sweeter)!!! Part of the reason we sent it out so early was because my bachlorette and bridal shower are at the end of the month (my Matron of Honor is a teacher and one of my Bridesmaids is still in school in AZ so we had to get in away from the end of the semester for them and myself and two of my bridesmaids graduate from grad school in the middle of May… sooo early shower and bachlorette it is). I wanted to make sure the invitations were received before the bachlorette and bridal shower invites went out! Plus we needed wedding photos by the middle of May for a generation of Love display for the reception… Curious about the invites (semi DIY) check out my posts!
