LOL, I sound like a freak in my previous post as I mentioned the water about 18 times!!!! Sorry, I’m a bit of a water girl and love beautiful beaches/water scenery…. clearly that came across a bit too strongly in my previous post! 🙂

OMG thank you so much for the advice! We haven’t made concrete plans yet as to where exactly we are going so your suggestions will help a lot. If you have any more tips or suggestions they are very very welcome and appreciated.

maybe the grand canyon, maybe somewhere else.
i guess we’re really behind on planning?

Make sure your cruise can make it to Grand Cayman. I went on a cruise there years ago and you have to take the little boats in to the mainland. Well it was windy that morning and our cruise ship had to cancel the Island because the waves were to big. I’m still disappointed 10 years later that I never got to go there only see it and hear Carnival announe we were going to have a fun day at sea instead.

I have a health condition that creates issues for me in the heat so I am therefore unable to travel to the caribbean for the Honeymoon. I love the idea of going to an all-inclusive resort to just be pampered and relax after the stress of the wedding.
Can anyone suggest somewhere that would provide the relaxation and/or “all -inclusive” feel without the heat factor? We originally wanted to go to Banff in the Canadian Rockies but we figured we would want to do so much sight-seeing that it would end up not being relaxing and therefore we will save that for another trip.

We’re getting married on a cruise ship and then going on a 5 day Eastern Carribean cruise in August which we’re calling our “wedding-moon”, but then when we get back we’re leaving for our 75 day backpacking Europe trip! Can’t wait!

Sounds fabulous, I can’t wait! I’m planning a couple of days in Bangkok, then about 5 days in the north in Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai and then a week down south on the beach at either Krabi or Khao Lak. Not sure which yet.
As for your trip to Spain, the food will not disappoint! My favourite thing about Barcelona is how incredibly Gaudi’s work defines the city. It really is just astonishing!

We are going to Australia! I am very excited.

As of right now, we are going to Santorini, Greece. A beautiful island and a volcano! So excited!

We also are planning Europe, but I think we are going to do a Mediteranean cruise (12 day). In a couple of years, we have friends in Glascow and then can explore on our own. With the cruise, it will be relaxation and not much planning (after all the wedding planning!). I just feel like the honeymoon is going to be just as expensive as the wedding!! lol

We are going to Greece. Still planning which islands. Definitely Santorini, not sure where else!

My fiance and I are not really beach people, we both turn in to melting, whining babies in the heat. So we’re planning on going to Iceland, Denmark and Sweden. We’ll fly from Boston to Reykjavik, where we’lspend the first few nights, then off to Copenhagen for a week, during which we’ll take a ferry ride to Sweden for a day trip. We’re meeting with our travel agent next week. I can’t wait!!!

@Jaynee: I think you should be fine to honeymoon in the caribbean. I have been going to the caribbean every summer for the past 14 years and I normally travel around the week of the 17th(ish) in July…. I would however, be worried to travel around the last week in August and the entire month of September… I am not getting married until July of 2012 but we will be going to Cancun.
Either way, enjoy your honeymoon and good luck on your wedding!!!

We have talked about Hawaii or the Virgin Islands. But we haven’t started planning our honeymoon quite yet.

We live in Thailand, but as much as we love it, come July, we’d really like to escape the heat a bit. Our tickets are booked for Norway!
