Ill join! I gained 20 pounds after our wedding and I hate how I look and feel right now, and this is the first time my weight has gotten out of control enough that I can’t fit in most of my clothes. 

Current Weight: 160

Goal Weight: 150 just for July, 140 would get me back to my wedding weight, and 130 would get me back to where I felt good about my looks and confident

Height: 5’3”

Timeframe: the month

Weight loss so far: 3 pounds since mid June

Reason: health and vanity lol

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): I play tennis several days a week and do yoga. I like to walk but I have a foot injury that’s not helping right now. I want to get back into lifting. Right now I’m unpacking the house which has been quite a bit of stairs!

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): Counting calories and limiting carb intake. Eating about 1500 calories a day of balanced meals. No alcohol.

Fav. Healthy Snack: roll ups of pepperjack and deli turkey. Or bell peppers

Positives so far: not feeling as bloated

Negatives so far: exhaustion

Current Weight: 150

Goal Weight: I would love to get back down to 125 but that was an insane amount of food tracking and exercise so for now the goal is 135. I feel pretty comfortable at that weight.

Height: 5’5″

Timeframe: End of August for vacation. This will probably be too aggressive for me but we’ll see.

Weight loss so far: None. I’ve yoyoed for awhile and I’m almost at my highest weight again.

Reason: I know I’m a couch potato so part of this is just challenging myself to move more. We’ve been reading about the American diet and how much it sucks so trying to change that. And yes, I would like my tummy to be a little flatter and my arms to have a little definition.

Exercise: I stated walking this week. Next week I want to get back on track with the couch to 5k program. I’m choosing a 5k to run with a friend to keep me motivated. Also some easy from home strength routines, approx ten minutes a night.

Diet: Following Weight Watchers Points Plus. This encourages me to eat more fruits and veggies and has worked for me before.

Fav. Healthy Snack: Snow Peas

Positives so far: my husband has agreed to do it with me so it’s been nice being on the same page.

Negatives so far: Chopping up this many veggies takes SO much time.

kmbumbee190618 :  I feel you on the emotional eating. Also the, I’ll start again next week. I planned out meals for all the days this week so I stay on track even with being off of work for the 4th. When I don’t have my normal work schedule it just all goes out the window so I’m really hoping to stick with it this time since I have specific meals planned out

Current Weight: 142

Goal Weight: 130

Height: 5’6

Timeframe: 6 weeks

Weight loss so far: Maybe 3 lbs in the past 2-3 weeks? Bloat and what not.

Reason: I want to be more comfortable in my skin and in control of my body/mind.

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): Walking, running, Blogilates

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): Vegeterian, Intermittent Fasting, Carb Cycling

Fav. Healthy Snack: Broccoli, Sweet Potatoes, Perfect Bars

Positives so far: I have discovered that if I can stick IF it goes a long way.

Negatives so far: Trying to get a grasp on a Carb Cycling routine.

Current Weight: 146

Goal Weight: 120

Height: 5’0”

Timeframe: by the end of 2019

Weight loss so far: 45 lbs

Reason: Planning on TTC next summer and want to be healthy for that 

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): I’m currently training for a half-marathon in September so I run 4x a week. I’m planning on subscribing to Beachbody on demand after the half.

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): I just count calories 

Fav. Healthy Snack: Hard boiled egg, carrots, popcorn

Positives so far: It’s awesome seeing what my body can do and pushing toward new goals. I’ve also learned a lot of new skills in the kitchen as I’m cooking at home way more than I used to.

Negatives so far: I’ve been off track for the past few months and only really got back on track last month. I had been at 140 when I will off the wagon so now I’m having to lose those pounds again which is frustrating

I’ll rep the big girls around here! I’ve been trying to lose weight for a year now and I use weekends as an excuse to “live a little”… but in all honesty, I eating crap food isnt “living”> I can experience things and have fun without stuffing my face. I also do the same as mbumbee190618 :  with the “eff it, I’ll start over next week” & let things spiral instead of refocusing after a cheat meal or a few drinks

Current Weight: 215lbs

Goal Weight: 180lbs (1st goal)

Height: 5’6

Timeframe: October

Weight loss so far: 27lbs

Reason: To feel less self conscious on my wedding day, to feel better, have more energy and not avoid mirrors when changing! 

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): Yoga. I need to get my butt in gear and add in some other workouts too

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): Weight Watchers freestyle

Fav. Healthy Snack: Fruit, protein pancakes with sugar-free syrup, cheese & baked crackers

Positives so far: My clothes fit better, I can tell a difference in my mental space when I’m eating healthier

Negatives so far: I do well for a few weeks, then go off the rails and have to start over again. I’m getting discouraged. I only have 5 months until my wedding and I NEED to get my act together. I’m an emotional eater and wedding stress is making this difficult!

Current Weight: 150

Goal Weight: 130

Height: 5’7

Timeframe: End of the year

Weight loss so far: I have gained weight somehow (around 4lbs) since starting to work out and eat healthier (past 2 weeks). It is so disheartening.. haha.

Reason: I want to feel good about myself. I feel so wobbly when I look in the mirror, especially now that summer is here and I want to look more toned.

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): Exercising 5 days a week, roughly an hour and a half each day. I am alternating between upper body and lower body, adding in some abs exercises and at least 30 mins of cardio each day. I’m following a routine that I built with one of the instructors at my gym.

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): I have cut out eating fast food and unhealthy snacks. I am now eating balanced meals and came up with a meal plan with a nutritionist. 

Fav. Healthy Snack: fruits

Positives so far: I feel better that I am taking action

Negatives so far: Gaining weight undecided

I posted my stats and such in the original thread (I’m 5’4″ and my current weight is 153 lbs), but I’ve lost 5 lbs in 6 weeks. I’d like to be losing faster, but I had a couple of work conferences where I was traveling and then was feeling rundown after, and we also went on 2 camping trips – I wasn’t tracking WW points during those. My wedding is in less than 3 months now and if I continue at 1 lb/week that would be 12 more lbs for a total of 17 lbs. My goal was 20 lbs, so even if my weight loss doesn’t accelerate, at least I’d still be pretty close. Have to keep it up!

kmbumbee190618 :  We have very similar stats, though I unfortunately got up to 169.4 lbs as my highest this year! I just wanted to say I hit the 150’s a couple months ago, and I swear the difference of how I feel physically between 165 and 155 has been like night and day. I just wanted to give you that boost of inspiration that even “just” (I think it’s still a big accomplishment) 10 pounds makes such a huge difference and I wish you all the best this month!

 

Current Weight: 155 lbs

Goal Weight: End of the month: 149 lbs, Ultimate: 130 lbs

Height: 5’4.5″ (I never know if I should round down or up)

Timeframe: August 2nd (my best friend’s wedding), Ultimate goal: end of October 2019 (when my dress arrives!)

Weight loss so far: 13 lbs!

Reason: I want to feel both sexy and healthy again. And for the first time in my life, I want to feel strong. At 120 lbs, I felt skinny, but so weak (I was in high school and had no muscle mass). At 140 lbs, I felt stronger (had started running) but generally happy with my size. When I went about 150 lbs, that’s when I started realizing I was officially overweight. At 160+ lbs, I felt the physical weight of my body in ways I never did before. Essentially, I want to just feel better in my skin again in all ways.

Exercise (routine and/or programs you use): I love jogging and biking, but unfortunately can’t do the latter much since I live in a city and don’t like to bike around here. I also do a lot of walking!

Diet (specific type, counting calories, track macros, vegan, etc): Calorie counting! I also try to incorporate the recommended dose of vegetables into my day.

Fav. Healthy Snack: I have become OBSESSED with seaweed snacks (specifically the sesame ones from Annie Chun’s). They are SO good and deliciously salty for only 50 calories per package! Love, love, love them.

Positives so far: After years (about 5) of trying to lose weight and only managing to gain, I am FINALLY starting to see a loss, mostly due to actually sticking to my 1200 calorie daily goal (though I do frequently do 1300 or 1400, but this is still a deficit and just results in a slower weightloss). I admit it all got jump started when I got my wisdom teeth removed and was forced to eat only when actually hungry (because it was painful and tedious), which taught me in truth what being hungry meant and how much less I truly need portion wise.

Negatives so far: As I mentioned, it’s been a slow process. I know I could go faster and be more vigilant about sticking to just 1200 calories, but honestly giving myself room to adjust to this new lifestyle has made it so much more sustainable. I had a goal of being my ultimate goal weight by August 2nd, and I decided to let it be okay that I won’t reach it by then. By having too strict of a goal, I was failing to give myself credit for my successes. I’ve lost 13 lbs and I should be proud, not feel like a failure for not doing it faster! But it’s still hard to forget sometimes when you see others hitting their goals much faster.

kmbumbee190618 :  Weight Watchers has worked for me, as long as I stick to it, and I like it. I lost 20 lbs with it back in 2011-2012, but then put back on all the weight plus more over the past few years. The program is different now, but it still works for me if I stick to it. The current program (called WW Freestyle) highly emphasizes eating lean proteins, since they are all 0 points – chicken breast, 99% lean ground chicken or ground turkey, fish and seafood. Eggs, beans, lentils, and corn are also all 0 points, as are most veggies (not potatoes or sweet potatoes). However, desserts have gone up in points quite a bit. If I faithfully track my points and don’t get off track, then I do lose weight. Skinnytaste is my favorite site for delicious WW recipes! I also have all 4 of her cookbooks, haha. She also gives calorie counts and nutritional info, if you’re not doing WW.

nightskyforest :  I adore skinny taste recipes.

I had been trying to figure out the differences from the old WW system to the freestyle one. I used WW to lose 60 lbs about 7 years ago (and since gained it all back UGH) and I used to be able to look at a nutrition label and tell whether the points will be high or low, but now I’m lost! I love the 0 point foods though, I made deviled eggs for 0 points!

Charliejeorge :  The main difference to me is all the new 0 point foods (a positive change), and they really hit you hard with sugar now, so desserts really have to be less indulgent or eaten less frequently.

nightskyforest :  I noticed a handful of chocolate chips was freakin 8 points the other day hahaha. But I’ve found some good alternatives, like peach crumble made with sweetner & cinnamon!
