Jump roping is hard. So are jumping jacks.  It’s crazy, they seem easy enough in small doses but boy is it tough after awhile!!

@Missus_LLC:  I bought weight jump ropes but I haven’t used them yet.  I’m going to definitely do it this evening!

My trainer says that jumping rope is one of the most effective ways to burn calories and get fit. We incorporate into our workouts all of the time. I am trying to master the double under, so hard! It’s fun to mix it up too…she will have us jump rope backwards for a minute, do high knees for a minute, side to side to work the abs for a minute, and then back to regular jumping. It’s also fun to write down how many times you can do it in a minute and try to break your record each time.

Growing up our neighbor would go into his garage, blast music, and jump rope for 45 minutes to an hour. He was in AMAZING shape!

I just might go and buy a jump rope. We need to bring it back!

I have one sitting at home.  I might have to bust that bad boy out tonight!!  For those with weighted ropes, how much weight is on each handle?

Jump roping is awesome cardio. It’s one of the workouts on my Kinect Your Shape Fitness Evolved game… even with a virtual rope, it is intense! A weighted one must be crazy!

I’d do it more often if I didn’t have downstairs neighbors :-/

60 mins on the rope is a ridiculously long amount of time!  jump rope is by far the most effective cardio workout and burns the most amount of calories.  congrats on making it thru 12 mins!!
