Hi!

I’m a June 13th 2009 Bride! YAY!

We’re getting married on Cape Cod in Mass and I’m planning from where we live in Southern California.  Luckily my family still lives in Mass so my Mom has been helpful.

Both sets of our parents were lax in getting addresses to us too!  I had to emply the help of my future sister in law to get addresses on that side and then I had to call my Dad to get on my Mom to get her butt in gear on the addresses!  LOL!  I found that everyone was willing to help on everything, but getting addresses was the task no one wanted to do.

I’m a pretty laid back bride and planner, so here’s what I’ve done so far: STD’s went out the week before Thanksgiving, I DIY them using my Gocco, we have our venue (ceremony/reception at the same place), I ordered my dress at the end of September to be delivered in Jan/Feb, we have our photographers, our DJ and our Minister.  I still need a florist and a baker.  We are DIYing all our paper goods (invites, escort cards, thank yous…), DIYing all our centerpieces and ceremony decorations and favors.  Our bridesmaids are choosing their own knee length Navy dresses and the groomsmen their own grey suits.

Have a happy holiday!

Hello Padiserene!!

I’m getting married in June too!! YAY!! I just sent out Save-The-Date Cards two weeks ago, but had a problem getting addresses too. I don’t know if this would be much help, but I would have your hubby-to-be step in and say something along the lines of you have a week to get you addresses and then you are sending them out with or without her help because you can’t wait any longer. Then seriously send out the ones you have addresses for. Call her the next day and let her know you really sent them out and maybe that will motivate her to send you the addresses you are missing. Also talk to other relatives or sibs to see if any of them can help you out. My Future Sister-In-Law was the most help because she still had her full list from when she got married 1 1/2 years ago. I know sending out the Save-The-Date Cards without having everyone’s address sounds a little harsh, but you can’t wait forever otherwise it will be time to send out your formal invites and then what’s the point. Some people need a little push, while others need a really big shove! Hope that helps! 🙂

I am getting married June 13—-a little behind on things—although, have been engaged for a year.  Life happens.  What are your colors?  What flowers are you using?  I need a planner!!!  Yiles!

We are getting married on the 14th!  Sunday Brunch wedding in Bucks County, PA.

Almost everything is done.  We received the invitations last week and they are already at the calligrapher (hooray for Aunt’s with a desire to learn new things!), we decided on our favors and only have to DIY them.   We had our cake tasting today!  Delicious!  And we booked our rehearsal dinner this morning.  My wedding dress came in yesterday too!

I keep thinking I am missing something really big!  My lastest craze is trying to find shoes before my first fitting!

Hope everything is going well!

June 13 here as well….and compared to you guys I think we are WAAAY behind.  Save-The-Date Cards have been out few weeks and we have a photographer, but we still lack an officiant, DJ, Florist, Hair/makeup, and table linens.  Oh and invitations… Yikes!!

I’m almost done stuffing / addressing invitations!  Whew!  We plan on sending them out a bit early because everyone will have to make travel plans and we were not able to email everyone the save the date.

We finally got all of our vendors booked, even the hair and (hopefully — it’s not yet confirmed) makeup folks.  I had my first dress fitting with the dressmaker yesterday.  I may now have a detatchable train…..  I’m a little nervous about this one.  We bought our rings, gifts for the groomsmen, registered for stuff.

If only the bridesmaids would order their dresses.  I’m just itching to cross that one off…

Can you tell I’m avoiding working on my masters thesis???

Wow bluegreenjean, you are super on the ball.

We just finalized our invitation design and ordered all the cardstock this week.  The next few weeks will entail making pocketfolds, goccoing invitations and fake calligraphy addressing.  whew, I am tired already.

We just nailed down our officant.  I still need: hair, makeup, to do the tatse testing at my choice bakery when I am home again, transportation, accomodations wedding night, alterations for my dress, jewelery, assemble the favors, and gifts for everyone.

Gulp, now I feel behind.

i am a june 13 wedding as well!!! 🙂

we are in the process of finalizing an invite design (didn’t send out stds but wrote notes in our Christmas cards) and will be spending the next month goccoing them and sending them out.

We have all of our vendors booked and just ordered the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from JCrew, which is a HUGE load off my shoulders. (got them for 35% off!!!) Now we just need to finalize centerpiece choices, book a hotel for getting ready and the wedding night, choose music and finish DIY projects like table numbers, menus and our paper-flower escort cards.

we recently hired Angel Swanson as our DOC and I couldn’t be happier! She is definitely helping to keep me sane as I try to finish my graduate work and plan this wedding at the same time! Yay for wedding day twins! 😉

Hey June 13 Brides . . . When are you planning on sending out your Invitations? . . . I am planning to send mine out the first week in April and have made the RSVP Deadline For May 9th, I was going to make it later but because of the increase in postage i was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find cute stamps for the new postage rates so I decided to just make it before the rate increase . . . is anyone else doing this?

@hcky0318 – I’m using pretty much the same approach as you mentioned.  I plan to have the invitations in the mail by April 8th and our RSVP Deadline is May 15.  I hadn’t really thought about the postage increase being during that timeframe, so we may just have to use the forever stamps on the RSVP envelopes.

We’re trying to send out our invites next week (semi destination wedding) and then we are doing postcard RSVPs.  I haven’t checked if the postcard rate is going up but our RSVP date is May 15th.

@PrettyKitty: I’m pretty sure the increase will affect all types of postage.  Here’s the USPS page, for quick reference.  :o)

I was planning on sending my invitations out on April 1st, with an RSVP date of May 12th.  Like ggsb, I’ll probably end up using Forever stamps on the return envelopes, for the sake of the procrastinators (like me!).  So much for my plan of coordinating custom postage from Zazzle!  (For me, it’s the little things!)

Everything else seems to be quickly falling into place.  Aside from the invitations, the only major items left to check off the list are the linen and chair rental (to replace what the venue already offers), wedding cake, baking 130 mini bundt cake favors, and finding props for the photobooth.

How are you ladies coming along?

I spent the whole weekend baking cookies for our favors.  We are doing 4 different types of cookies for each person (chocolate sugar cookies, peanut butter, chocolate chip, and oatmeal).  I made ALL of them at my parents house tihs weekend so that we could freeze them at my dad’s restaurant until the wedding.  I do not recommend this to anyone; making 600 cookies in 2 days is just WAY too much!
