Holla!

Haha, is that right?  I feel so un-hip.

Yes, just 57 days to go!  I have so much left to do that I could just throw up, but I know it will all get done (and if it doesn’t, well, we’re getting married anyway haha).

@Misshotsauce:  Oh nice, are you coming to the meetup?  I grew up in Scarborough (what what) and recently moved to the Shwiggity.

Try not to barf any more, we’ll get it all done!

51 days…eeeek!

I am busy writing bridal shower thank-yous today.  RSVP’s are coming in pretty steadily…curious to see if our estimations on who would/wouldn’t be able to come are at all on target.

I’m busy working on music and “must have photo” lists.  I know we need to finalize transportation and ceremony music.

I also totally need to get on the ball with my program, and figuring out venue decor details.

Honeymoon plans are on hold because sadly Fiance got laid off last week.  The timing is pretty horrible and it’s added a lot of extra stress into the mix.  Blech.  ๐Ÿ™

I totally had a freak-out last week when Fiance decided that since we had a few extra invites he would add people to the guest list…HELLO! This was supposed to be a 15 person party and if everyone shows up it will be double that…seems like no big deal, but I’d much rather just go to the courthouse with our parents and my daughter than even have this tiny wedding we’ve planned. *breathe* I’m secretly hoping that with our 9:00AM start time that the guests who live 45+ minutes away won’t want to drag their behinds out of bed to come (but I didn’t tell Fiance that LOL).

But, I’ve also gotten a lot done the past couple of weeks! I’ve made all of our paper flowers (kusudama & rolled paper roses), and am taking my daughter shopping this weekend for shoes & jewelry. Fiance & I will be going over the “must-have” photo list this weekend as well, and we also have our first pre-marital counseling session with the pastor.

HI!

50 more days! I can’t wait for it to be over. My RSVPs are coming back and most of my projects are done. Now I’m just trying to figure out songs for all the dances and what should be sung at the ceremony. We haven’t picked out the verses to be read or basically anything about the ceremony figured out and it is really stressing me out. I plan on hasseling him this weekened when I go to visit to sit down and talk it over so we can just get it done.

HOLLA!!! –> yeah I so can’t pull that off, even on the internet.

@miss ranunculus What a bummer! What are you guys thinking of doing?

Looks like I am the only one that hasn’t sent out invitations yet… oops. I thought it was 6-8 weeks before? We planned on sending them next week.

The ceremony is all done and I’m really excited about it! FI’s dad officiating and my dad is contributing also. It’s probably going to be a bawling mess of people up front.

Dress alterations are done and the dress is safely hanging at my parent’s house.

My last final is 3 weeks from today and then it will be wedding mayhem!

@risingsun:  Bummer indeed – It’s hard to say what we’re going to do.  Thankfully Fiance got a 2 month severance from his company, so we do have a bit of a cushion.  I was 2 days away from getting in the car and moving all my stuff from Ohio to Vancouver to be with Fiance (he’s been working in British Columbia for the last year and a half – long distance engagement…) so I’m kinda thankful this happened before I went through the trouble of moving and immigrating to Canada.  We will most likely not be staying here in Vancouver (we both want to go back to the U.S. and he’s been submitting his resume/working with recruiters like a fiend this last week.  It’s just so freaking crazy because his visa will technically expire at the end of the month so we may have to pack up and move real quick.  Of course, there is a definitely possibility he could have a new job by then and we’ll be moving anyways.

Anyways, I think it’s so cool that you and your FI’s dads will be involved in your ceremony.  I’m sure it will be emotional, but how special as well!

There were a couple reasons I wanted to get my invites out early – 1. we have a lot of people invited from out of town 2. I didn’t send save the dates because it took SO FREAKING LONG to get the list of invites and addresses from my Future Mother-In-Law (SO ANNOYING) and as a result I wanted to try to give people extra time. I’ve definitely seen 6-8 weeks as the optimum window for invite sending, so you guys should be totally fine.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@Kari 2012:  It took us forever to pick stuff for the ceremony too!  I was riding FI’s butt about it for what seemed like ages.  Are you guys in a LDR?  FI and I are too – last time he visited me I finally made him sit down and do it (because we were meeting with the officiant the next day) and I think we were both surprised by how quickly it went.  Hopefully it will go the same for you guys this weekend.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@miss ranunculus Holy cow!  Sudden moves are so stressful. Best of luck to your Fiance on his job search!

@mrs ranunculus:  Our entire relationship has basically been a LDR except for the first 8 months of our relationship and the summer breaks from college when we both went back to our hometown for the summer. We are now only a hour away now so I at least I get to see him almost every weekend vs. a week every 3ish months like when we were in college.

I’m gonna sit him down and tell him that we HAVE to get verses this weekend then next weekend maybe songs. I guess I’ll just take it one week at a time, lol.
