I got part of the wedding free because of this thing the location i wanted was having. it was called nearly free reception tuesdays. So its a tuesday, but i got the catering, location, chairs, tables, linens, and other stuff for free! its worth 4k, so that really helped!

Another June Bride Here!!!

Haven’t done much shopping yet, but I have a spreadsheet with the planning all figured out, I’m up to almost 30 tabs in the one spreadsheet!  I will have an extreme DIY wedding.

I have bought a bunch of styrofoam balls for pomanders as I found 4 in balls on clearance for $.25 for a two pack!  But so far that is it… oh and some fabric samples to decide on which fabric to make table runners out of…

I’m a June Bride.  June 18, 2011.

I got engaged at the end of February, and I did ZERO wedding planning (besides research) for about a month. So far we have our venue booked — it’s going to be a gorgeous garden ceremony, garden cocktail hour, and a big tented reception.  I also have booked the makeup artist and photographer.  Also, my mom is a professional seamstress, so she’s making my dress, which is really special.  My family is also full of green thumbs, so we’re doing our own flowers (I want LOTS of garden roses and hydrangeas).  Next up, we need to worry about the musicians and DJ/band.  I have a feeling the non-cheesy ones book up fast, so we need to get on it. We also have our caterer picked out but keep forgetting to contact them (our venue has required caterers so not too worried about them booking up). Oh, and I have a day-of coordinator tentatively set up.

I feel like I’ve been slacking, but now that I wrote that outI feel better about what I’ve accomplished.

Earlier today I was working on DIY “will you be my bridesmaid”  packages for my friends. Fun!

Church and venue are now booked! Just need to get planning on everything else. We need to decide on a photographer, book wedding cars, work out what flowers we want, what themes what colours etc….all stuff we’re not sure of the answers to!

Wow, everyone has so much more planned than I do!  That makes me anxious…….better get on it. 🙂  Currently, I am in final negotiations with ceremony/reception/caterer.  Tomorrow I meet with photographer.  I have tried on a few dresses and have a general idea of the fit I want.  I love a specific dress but I think I will have to find a sample or look alike as I can’t afford the custom fit one.  I am starting to narrow down my colors and general theme. Although I am having trouble figuring out how to blend the garde/woodland look with a post dinner casino-style entertainment.  We shall see!

I can’t afford most vendors so it will have to be heavy on DIY!

Good luck to all of us! YAY for June brides!

Also a June 18th bride!  So far we have our ceremony/reception venue booked and we’re meeting photographers in the next few weeks.  It’s hard planning from out of town.  We can only make it back to Columbus every other month or so to check things out!  Smile  I have been amusing myself with designing our paper products (e.g. save the dates, invitations, etc.).  It’s so exciting to be under the 400 day mark!

Another June 18th – I squealed when we hit under 400 and sent emails out to everyone I know.

We have our venues picked out, a photographer chosen, we’ve met with 2 caterers and have our final tasting lined up before we have to make a decision.  I have no interest in dress shopping right now, plan on going with my Mom in September to start the hunt. Should be fun!

Still stuck on a theme though – we’re deciding between 2 very different ideas, either a french provincial feel (ivory/pale blue) or a carnival theme (bright primary colors).  I just can’t bring myself to care fervently either way – I know it will be fun no matter what color choice we go with!  We’re scoping out the venue on June 19th this year and coming to a final decision.

Hello ladies!

Another June Bride joining the conversation. We just got engaged on 4-30-10, but  since I knew it was coming I had already started the planning. We are doing a Sunday evening wedding, but I am praying that  people will stay (until 10)  and party with us. We  are getting married in a theatre and  the colors will be red and  black as we are going for a hollywood glam type of theme. I am having a vintage dress updated to fit my style a bit more.  The DJ  and officiant are  included with the venue, but I’m still not positive about catering or photography yet. We have already put down money for our honeymoon to Sandals in Jamaica,  but haven’t been able to book our flights yet. We wanted a semi-long engagement so that  we would have more time to save and plan without being so stressed! Congrats to you all and I’m so glad I have you ladies for this long journey ahead!

I’m another June 25/11 bride here! We’ve been engaged since Dec 31/07! The wedding is a looong tme coming! Haha. We had originally had our date set for Sept 18/2010 but my fiance was in a truck crash last October so we decided to postpone it since we didn’t know how long he’d have to be in rehab for (he just got discharged in March!).

I feel like I’m way ahead of the game, spending too much time planning stuff out when it’s still over a year away (JUST over a year thogh! :D) but seeing all the other June brides on here makes me feel a lot less psycho! Lol.
