Hi Ladies! Thanks for the well-wishes and just wanted to give you a quick update. Yesterday, Friday, the 17th at 4:45pm, our little boy was born! He weighed 6 ibs 10.4 oz (probably due to being about 2 weeks early) and was 19 inches long. We love him to pieces. I was able to have a natural birth and not have to be induced, even though I didn’t start out with contractions as soon as my water broke. He latches like a champ and I’ve been able to breast feed. I’ll try to write a more detailed birth story and post pictures once we get settled back at home. We’ll probably get to leave the hospital around noon tomorrow.

Oh, and we finally decided on a name this morning – yes, after he was born – Sebastian Niccolo (I won the debate).

I did a quick read through the last few posts, but will try to catch up more over the next few days. I’m still pretty exhausted right now! Hope all is well with everyone else in the meantime! So, who do you think will have their baby next?

@dreamocracy:  I’m so sorry to hear about your cat.  How devastating! Sounds like maybe doing the final odds and ends to get ready for baby will keep your mind off of it for a while.

@saltybalty:  Oh congratulations to both of you and a belated happy birthday to Sebastian! I’m so happy that you had such a great experience and that Sebastian will be coming home with you despite his early entrance into the world. That’s awesome. πŸ™‚

@dreamocracy:  I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Pepper. Sending cuddles from all our fur babies your way.

I am super excited that we got the huge wall decal I bought up in the nursery today. And because I can’t contain my excitement, here’s a picture. Now pardon me while I contemplate whether or not my feet can ever possibly return to a normal size.

Hi ladies! I was so exhausted after my shower yesterday that I pretty must laid in bed all night. My wonderful sister and friend cleaned my house after the party so I have a nice clean house today too!

our shower went really well, probably had over 20 people here and a few people who couldn’t make it sent gifts too! Everyone was very generous, and I’m definitely spoiled! We didn’t bend up getting any duplicates, and although we got some clothes, only one set was 0-3 month everything else was in much larger sizes which is super awesome!!

we got a few infant car seat toys, health care items like nail clippers, etc, I got my diaper bag (which I’m in love with and packed last night…haha) and a tummy mat, our monitor(came from my sister, and she said she would be offended if I returned isofter a different one). one of my closest friends gave me a first year calendar. It’s like a baby book almost rot record firsts, and it has little stickers and things to mark milestones.

We also got a number of gift cards to finish off the shopping that we need to do! Surprisingly I didn’t get a single package of diapers (or wipes) and only one package of towels and one package of blankets. I got two sleep sacks and one pack of muslin cloths for swaddling!

so, there are only a few things we need to pick up pre baby now: I need an extra car seat base, a boopy, a Moby wrap for baby wearing, and a few more receiving blankets and towels. I’m going to buy 1-2 halos to see how he likes them, since I’m afraid to swaddle with a blanket in his bed.

After that, I’m leaving all the rest of the baby shopping until after he’s here to see what we bed that we’ve missed!

i define they feeforearmed for him to get here now!!

@dreamocracy:  sorry to her about your cat. That must have bereal ally terrible! I had to put my first dog down 3 years ago due to congestive heart failure, and I still get upset over it πŸ™

@saltybaby congrats momma! Glad you and Sebastian are doing well! Can’t wait to see pictures! (I think !rskrumpet will be next!!)

@Bichon Frise:  I still have an innie! And it’s still pretty significantly deep, like maybe 1/2 inch? I don’t think I’ll get an outie.

@ms lovestruck:  Feels good to clear off your registry and get the things you need doesn’t it? I felt a big releif when we did that.

@dreamocracy:  I’m so sorry about your kitty πŸ™ that’s totally awful. The only silver lining is at least he didn’t suffer. Hope you start to feel better in the coming days. You’re right about the baby laundry, it’s all so cute!! I feel like I’m going to think less of it though when I’m having to fold a giant mountain of it every few days haha.

@saltybalty:  Congrats momma! I can’t wait to hear the full story but it sounds like everything went pretty perfectly! Secretly jealous that you get to hold your little one in your arms already :). And I love his name (and the fact that you won that battle hehe). Rest up! Can’t wait to hear from you when you’re back.

@Mrs. Lox:  Love that decal! The nursery looks amazing. White cribs are so pretty!

@anotherbee:  Glad your shower went well!!

I can’t remember who posted about constipation recently but I feel ya! I know it’s normal when the baby starts to drop it compresses your intestines and causes constipation, definitely annoying!

@Bichon Frise:  thanks! My birthing class was great, we both feel more informed. πŸ™‚ and I’m still an innie and it looks pretty deep still, but it hurts sometimes so I wonder if its working its way out.

@ms lovestruck:  yay for finishing off your registry! We will probably do that within the next 2 weeks. And I know about not knowing how to plan/arrange the items for baby… It’s stressing me out but remind myself we can make it work, or we can change it when he’s here. And no butt muscle pain, sorry!

@bwaychick: Lol the discription of your class sounded more normal on here vs fb πŸ˜‰ glad you found it helpful! I liked my class too, but couldn’t see sitting through 2 days of it!

@dreamocracy:  so sorry to hear about your cat πŸ™ as I was catching up on here & reading your post hubby decided one of our birds (“my bird”) doesn’t look so hot. So now my Sunday is spent laying around the house keeping an eye on her and little/quick runs to the stores for baby & mom supplies. Try to have fun at the movie and with hubby’s quartet!

@saltybalty:  Thanks for updating us momma! Don’t freak over getting caught up on the board & Facebook, just enjoy that baby! Can’t wait to see pics and hear the rest of the story.

@Mrs. Lox:  I LOVE your wall decal! We were looking at that one too and just couldn’t make it work in the room πŸ™ still trying to find a way to make it work though lol

@anotherbee:  Yay for a successful shower!! We have about the same things left to buy before he comes. And putting the rest off until we need it or want it after he’s here.

Not sure what I covered last, so sorry if this is long & rambled.

Fri i had a decent visit with my GD dietician specialist. Wont see her again unless the GD Dr requests it on our next and last visit on 6/5. We had our baby class yesterday. We both feel more prepared. Hubby wants me to get my hospital bag & baby bag packed ASAP. He is installing the carseat today after work. I tried explaining that I’m only 35 weeks on Monday, but he wants to be prepared. Probably didn’t help that I had a few contractions Saturday that literally stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away. Then we stopped by hubby’s old highschool friends rummage sale that was all baby boy clothes, and ended up with a small bag of clothes for the kid. So now I have more laundry to do. :). I’m also buying hubby his own manly diaper bag. I can’t find one that I like, and think work might get me a Thirty One “diaper bag” so for now ill use the ugly purple one my Mother-In-Law gave us.

And awhile back on the boards we talked about what to bring to the hospital. Since my hospital just remodeled the postpartum rooms, they told us we do not need to bring anything besides a going home outfit for baby, clothes & toiletries for me and hubby, and some snacks to keep in the room if we wanted. Super nice rooms, I’m excited to stay there! Lol

@Mrs. Lox:  I love your nursery πŸ™‚ It seriously looks so bright and calm.

@saltybalty:  Another big congrats mama! Can’t wait to read all about it πŸ™‚

@anotherbee:  Glad you got so many great gifts at your shower πŸ™‚ Now it’s time for the last minute shopping!

@dreamocracy:  Really sorry to hear about your cat πŸ™ I know how hard it is to lose a part of the family so suddenly, sending hugs your way

So 38 weeks today and no sign of baby packing it’s bags to make an appearance lol. Today is Darling Husband and I’s 1 year wedding anniversary πŸ™‚ So it’s a nice relaxing day for us. I’m so excited… He bought me a stand in ring for my wedding set so that my hand no longer feels naked πŸ™‚ It is two sizes bigger than my originals and he figures it will work with subsequent pregnancies to πŸ˜‰

I’m guessing I’m blind… Where have you ladies found the tucks pads to buy for your recovery? Or the chux pads. I wandered around Target lost.

Buying all of the things for my hospital stay and recovery is exhausting. Really hope I don’t need all of this πŸ™‚  Still have more things to get (basically clothes and nursing bras) but ill do that another day. Time to relax with my feet up watching tv and some iced tea.
