I’m late joining the new thread, so here’s my delayed roll call!

How far along:    nearly 31 weeks (tomorrow!)

Total weight gain/loss:  I was up 22 lbs at my doctor’s appointment last week, so I’m guessing between 23 and 24 now? I honestly have stopped weighing myself between appointments. Seeing those numbers continue to go up is just too depressing.

Stretch marks:    nope!

Maternity clothes: yep! Can still fit into a couple of formerly loose non-maternity pants and tunics, but am wearing more and more maternity clothes now. Especially loving maxi skirts and dresses as well as long cardigans over everything (to hide my growing rear end).

Sleep: Horrible. This babies a night time partier. Also, I’ve been getting a lot of random leg spasms at night that make it hard to fall asleep and the belly is just getting more and more uncomfortable.

Food cravings or aversions: Developed an aversion to chicken in the last few weeks. Occassional sweet or salty cravings, but it seems like my all-food-all-the-time appetite from the 2nd trimester has really gone done once I hit the 3rd tri.

Gender: boy!

Movement: Tons. Rolls, punches, kicks, pokes. This little boy likes to move! Lately he’s been hiccuping a lot, too. Like at least once a day for the past week.

Belly button in/out:  Flat. I know it’s going to pop very soon.

Diet:  Pretty similar to how I ate pre-pregnancy (minus the caffeine, raw fish, etc.). Relatively healthy (fruits, veggies, whole grains), but I still eat sweets when I’m craving them. I just try not to go crazy with it.

What I’m loving:  Realizing how soon this baby will be joining us. We’re getting into 2 month range now! And only 1.5 if he comes a little early! Can’t wait.

What I’m not loving:  Not having a named picked out. Considering the above realization, I’m freaking out. Also, we still have more to research (birth plans, breast feeding, diapers, etc) and a few more things to buy for the baby (dresser and rocker).

What I miss: My old waistline and thinner thighs. My old wardrobe. Being able to get off the couch gracefully…

Favourite moment this week: Definitely our shower last weekend. Just all of the love and support we got from our friends and family there as well as having my mom in town for it and letting her feel the baby kick.

What number thread do you think we will be on come June 1st?!: 14?

@Mrs. Lox:  I saw your post at the end of our old thread. How crazy that we’ll be delivering in the same hospital and attending the same class! I’ll send you a pm with my real name in case you see me and the husband and want to say “Hi” (and not call us Mr. and Mrs. Salty Balty). It would be extra crazy if we end up delivering at the same time there. We’ll just have to wait and see…

@faye0314:  I’m so sorry to hear about your husband’s job. Best of luck with the interviews and new prospects. I’m sure it will all work out some way some how, it’s just sucky in the meantime.

@dreamocracy:  I wish I could take off my belly for a little while, too. I always joke with DH that I wish we could share the carrying of this baby.

@MrsDW:  I’m so sorry to hear about the glucose test! And especially the way your doctor’s office handled it. Please update us when you find out more information.

@saltybalty:  thanks! I’m really more upset about the way they handled it than the fact that I have it. My appointment with the nurse was better. But I still have almost no information. Hopefully Thur my hubby & I can get all our questions answered plus some. I’m just so thrown off with it all.

How far along:   30 weeks tomorrow

Total weight gain/loss:  22 pounds as of my last appointment, 1.5 weeks ago. The doctor told me I’m gaining too much weight and to “slow it down.” As if I knew how to do that!

Stretch marks:   None yet. Despite all the weight gain, the belly is still relatively small.

Maternity clothes:  Oh yeah. I finally caved and bought some really comfy skinny jeans, some dresses, shirts…so much more comfortable now!

Sleep:  Getting harder. I wake up a lot and either pee or lie in bed thiinking about how I really should get up and pee… πŸ™‚

Food cravings or aversions: Aversion: hamburgers; craving: eggs, fruit

Gender:  team green!

Movement:  A lot. I am counting kicks now, doctor’s orders…

Belly button in/out:  Flat and weird but not really out yet.

Diet:  Ever since the doc told me I’m too heavy, I’ve been trying to eat better, but I was eating pretty well as it was, so it hasn’t changed much. If I don’t eat, I get REALLY HUNGRY.

What I’m loving:  The bigger belly, strangers starting to realize that I’m pregnant, and getting closer to the due date!

What I’m not loving: Worrying that I’ve gained too much weight and not really knowing what to do about it. Exercise is painful and I don’t know how else to alter my diet.

What I miss: Running, sleeping in my stomach, sleeping through the night, my pre-pregnancy spring wardrobe.

Favourite moment this week:  Today, because I didn’t have to go to work. πŸ™‚

@MrsDW:  The way they handled giving you that info was terrible. Glad to hear the appointment with the nurse went better.

@MrsDW:  I dont, but a girl in my prenatal class does and she has told me that it isnt actually that bad. You just have to change your diet and learn how to portion your crappy food! I think if I had it I would be alot more in shape and ready for labour because you have to exercise all the time and eat healthy.

So my DH has become very interested in photography since we bought our new camera πŸ™‚ So instead of paying for professional photos he’s going to take them and I’ll edit them as best as I can! So here are a few of our favorite ones from today we’ll be doing a few more shoots before the baby comes when I get a bit bigger.

@MrsDW:  You’re not alone! I don’t have GD, but I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 3 months before we really started TTC. It sucks not  being able to give in to all of my sweet cravings, but it’s not the worst thing in the world. I take metformin to control my sugar levels.. haven’t needed insulin yet. My sister (who just had her baby 2 months ago) was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks. The doctors let her try metformin (oral pill) before prescribing insulin and it also worked for her. She never had to take insulin, but we both had/have to check in regularly via phone to report our sugar levels. She said when she was 32 weeks, they had her come in for fetal monitoring twice every week. I assume I’ll have to do the same when the time comes. But good news is her sugar levels went back to normal after giving birth. She didn’t need to take anything after and my nephew is completely healthy. Hope that helps!

@MrsDW:  The info my midwife gave me about GD was that most of the time you only need to manage it with diet and exercise. If you get it, it might be an indication that you are higher risk for developing diabetes later in life. She’s not a doctor or a GD specialist so I don’t know how accurate this info is but she also said if you do need insulin to control GD then it might not really GD but undiagnosed diabetes that you already had, that is only being caught now. She really made it seem like GD was not a huge deal … she just said, if I have it I’ll have to go to a specialist who will help me with diet and exercise ideas so I can manage it, so I am less likely to have complications or have a baby that is too big.’ It’s nice to have a low-stress primary care practitioner. What a piss off that the people taking care of you seem to be hitting the Panic button!

I haven’t gone yet for my 1 hour test, I am going to go next week. My dad has type II diabetes so I’m a little worried that I might not pass but I am just looking forward to knowing either way so I can adjust my diet appropriately, I guess. Though, in the meantime I may or may not be eating a creme egg :/

@mrskrumpet:  love the 2nd and 3rd pic! And thanks. It sounds like I’m in the GD camp that needs more than just change your diet and exercise. But I won’t know for sure until Thursday.

@legalese:  thanks dear. I dont think my case will be as easy as you & your sisters. I’m going to message you.

@araneidae:  From the little bit of info I got out of my nurse yesterday… There is a range of failing. If you fall between those 2 numbers its “cut ____ out of your diet add exercise and we’ll follow up in a few weeks” if you’re the higher end of the numbers they do the 3 hour retake test  to make sure and then discuss what to cut out of your diet/add exercise. My number was so over the retake number that I don’t get too. They are sending me to another clinic for diabetes management dietician and a specialist dr. Good luck on your test!

I know that having GD is common and tons of women do it. I feel silly complaining here. I’m more upset over my lack of info and how confusing this time is until I know what to do for me and kiddo. And that any research I do with the number they told me I ranked out on the test comes back to not fabulous news. *sigh*

@ellebeerob:  I just wanted to thank you for giving me babyecotrends website! I ordered the mobile and the store has had constant contact with me about it. Petit collage never told them it was discontinued so they argued to get me one… And they did. It’s currently in the mail set to be here Tuesday. πŸ™‚  The owner was the sweetest thing ever. Thank you!!

Went shopping yesterday since I had a coupon for old navy… Hoping it would life my spirits. Picked little man up 2 onesies for $5 each because they had it labeled wrong. Normally $12 each. And another onesie for my mom to make a cardigan with lol. Then of course short sleeve shirts since its way to hot at work for my winter wardrobe already. πŸ™‚ think I’m heading back to see what else I can find. Being out for my mind off things for awhile.

@Sweethart:  thanks dear. I know it’s not the end of the world, but I hate how I found out and that I have no dr specified info on it for 6 more days, and the dear that it will stay around after kiddos birth because my number was so crazy high. Plus going into the holiday weekend will be hard since everyone will be watching what I’m eating. But mom, step dad, sis and hubby are the only ones who know out of the 15 guests that will be there. So as long as it doesn’t get out ill be ok.

Hey- are you guys interviewing pediatricians, or are you just taking suggestions from trusted friends/family and going with it?
