- Wedding: June 2011
Part 2 of my recaps focuses on the bridal party and my husband and me. My husband and I dated for nine years before getting married and so we have acquired quite a group of close friends! In total we had seven bridesmaids, seven groomsmen, a junior bridesmaid, two ushers, and two ring bearers…in short, an army!
First, the my handsome groom! I wish he had realized his bout was twisted because I love this picture of him!
The groomsmen and ushers.
On their way to marry off one of their own!
My gift to my husband on wedding day was a box of items to help him “mature into a distiguished gentleman”. It included a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, a pipe and pipe tobacco, cigars and a nice cutter, and this fine costume monocle! Apparently they had a lot of fun with it before wedding time.
Me and the girls.
The essential bridal photo.
It was a little breezy so my mom had to keep fixing my veil. I think there are lip-gloss marks on it from it sticking to my face from time to time!
One of the only glitches during the day was the flowers. They got delivered to the wrong part of the gardens so many of our pre-ceremony pictures are lacking them. In the end though everything turned out just fine and they all got to where they needed to be!
My niece and two nephews aka junior bridesmaid and ring bearers!
When we were all together the group is HUGE! But they were all so much fun! I think I’m one of the few brides who had little to no drama within the wedding party. Everyone got along and had a great time as shown in the pictures below! Even guests commented that they were so much fun at the reception and had a good time dancing with many of them!
My sister was my maid of honor and was told by our photographer that the train was her life for the duration of pictures! I thought she might be offended but she took it in stride and we had a lot of fun together.
These were fun to take – and things got a little interesting at this point!
You can’t tell from the photo but these rocks were extremely high, at least two stories tall! I have no idea how they climbed up and back down and no one broke an ankle!
Being such a large group we had to get a limo bus! It was a blast!
To cap off this portion of the recap, here are a few of us together! These are some of my favorites!
Our wedding party made the day wonderful! It was amazing to have all of our close friends together in one place for a few days. Up next in the recap – ceremony and reception!
