It’s strange to even think it but I think I am pretty much done everything! Well, except for the seating chart that is… it’s driving me nuts! So hard when there’s this person who doesn’t get along with that person and all that fun stuff.
I’ve sent all my ‘delegation emails’ to those who are helping with things and I feel like a big weight has lifted!
Along with the seating chart I just have to pick up my dress the week of the wedding, finish writing my speech (already rewrote it twice!), break in my shoes, prepare final payments and finalize the menu for our rehearsal dinner! Wow, I keep thinking I’m forgetting something… hopefully not something important though!
What does everyone else have left to do, maybe that’ll spark something for me too!

-Finalize seating chart
-Final meeting with photographer
-Welcome gifts/packages for out of town guests (we have so many because it’s destination)

Got all the way to the W’s in the seating chart and ran out of freaking room!!!!!!!!!! Starting over now and if this ish happens again I’m throwing it in the street! LOL

Have I mentioned that my guest countis now at 320? (we were expecting about 250) Now we’re having to reconfigure floor plans and whatnot – super stressful. Good news is, we’ve added a ‘kids room’ for my daughter and everyone else 12 years and under.
I feel like I have a million things left do:
- Finalize, print and assemble programs
- Final meetings w/ coordinators
- Create a slideshow
- Finalize reception playlist
- Pick up my dress from seamstress
- Finish putting together bridesmaid gifts
- Write and memorize a poem for the ceremony (I do performance poetry so I’m surprising FI)
I’m sure there’s something I’m forgetting.

….signage – I forgot signage, lol.
@MrsJWL: I felt like our 233 was alot! We invited 386 total (+1 and kids).
I still need to:
-Finish 2 signs
-Buy candy for candy buffet-Can you believe WalMart was out of 90% of the kind I needed yesterday!?
-Put the last 5 pics in frames for cocktail hour
-Wrap Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts
-Pack for Honeymoon, I’m doing a TON of laundry as I type. Its insane how quick it piles up.
-The week of I am changing our Registry shipping address to my parents so they aren’t sitting on our porch for a week if any come. Also putting in for a Hold Mail at USPS for while we are gone.
-I need to get my dress-it’s ready, just need to find time.
I *think* that’s it! We are so close I’m getting nervous!

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!!!!!
Currently, I am working on typing up all of our place cards. It’s super boring and I needed a bee break. We still have to:
-finish typing and printing up all place cards, table numbers, info to put in welcome bags, and dessert bar labels
-confirm everything with the caterer (Monday!!!)
-confirm times with the photographer and send him a list of all our must have photos
-finish getting parent’s gifts and wrap all gifts/write thank yous
-hair trial (need a flower–any suggestion of types to get???)
-book some excurisons/laua, etc. for honeymoon (any Maui, or Oahu suggestions?)
-paint our signs
-pay a ton of bills!!!
Then a few things that have to wait till the Thursday and Friday before, like assemble all the centerpieces, corsages, etc.
I AM SO EXCITED!!! And not stressed at all, yet. Let’s hope it doesn’t hit me all the week of…I think I’ll be good, though 🙂

@SpartyOn: What kind of flowers are in your bouquets? Do you want something similar in your hair?
@candief: all of my flowers are snapdragons. We are getting them from a grower about 2 hours away, and I cannot find anybody in my area that carries them right now to take to my trial to try out. I would LOVE to do something cool with them though, if it would work
Post # 236
@SpartyOn: Aw shucks! I can’t even think of one that resembles a snap dragon. Do they make fake ones at like Hobby Lobby you could get?
@SpartyOn: Maui! We are going to Maui for part of our honeymoon too… but not until September. It’s beautiful there and Oahu too! It’ll be a nice contrast as Oahu has lots going on and Maui is a slower pace. Both are absolutely beautiful! We were in Oahu a couple years ago. I think we might omit doing a luau this time as we did one in Waikiki last time and it was so-so. I heard the one at the Polynesian cultural centre is good if you’re interested though. Also heard that if you do it it’s pretty much a whole day event with lots of activities. Whatever you end up doing you’ll have lots of fun! If you get a chance, definitely eat at a Mackey’s Shrimp Truck and Tae’s Teppanyaki (whole in the wall). I get excited about travels, my own and others!
Less than 2 weeks away now and I think our numbers are finally set at 313 (4 people cancelled last week!). It’s crazy and my week pre and post wedding is already full of dinners and stuff going on. Can’t wait for all the out of towners to get here! Coming up fast!!
@lemonie: thank you so much for your a suggestions!! I think we were hoping to do a luau in Maui since we are there longer (7days in Maui, 3 inOahu). I will definitely look into both of your food suggestions. Holes in the wall are the BEST and I am SO looking forward to good seafood! I get so excited for travels, as well 🙂
Post # 239
@candief: I know. I might just have to go with a rose. Oh well! Not a big deal 🙂
Post # 240
Anybody else starting to freak out?!?! haha I am! It’s like all this planning is finally coming down to this!
@candief: I am totally freaking out! I think I’m pretty much done everything I need to do but I still constantly look at my spreadsheet and my checklist like there’s more secretly waiting for me. I just don’t know what I’ll do when the wedding is here and then over! Can’t wait to welcome family and friends from out of town in soon… just hope the weather cooperates!
Oh yes, I heard Maui luaus are somewhat more ‘traditional’ so that sounds like a good option! I’ve also been reading up on good restaurants to try in Maui but I can’t remember any of the names. I want to eat macadamia nut pancakes and lots of seafood! We are planning most of our time around surfing. Can’t wait!
