I had my first fitting yesterday. After the consultant tied me up I walked over to the mirror and immediately starting turning blotchy red. I was SO nervous! I had so many thoughts running through my head. Did any of you ladies experience anything like this? Everyone kept telling me to not be nervous but all I could think about was the wedding and envisioning myself getting to the church and the moment before walking down the aisle AHHHH … so overwhelming!
The dress overall didn’t need much alterations. Has to be taken in along the sides up top, taken out slightly by my hips, sew in gel cups and hidden french bustle. I’ll post pics later.

@xdaydreams05x: I’m not a June bride (been married for some time), but I just wanted to say that I also got all red at my first fitting. I was super nervous that the dress wouldn’t fit!! 😛

I’m all done with mine. We’re also moving across the country so I needed it done sooner rather than later. It turned out great and I got the alterations done for a steal.

@xdaydreams05x: I just had my first one Monday! My friend’s (who we had ordained for the ceremony) mom was a seamstress so her gift to the couple is always doing the alterations for them! The dress fits wonderful, we just need to hem it a couple inches. She is also going to cinch the top of the sweatheart neckline so it doesn’t stick up as bad and hugs the body more. And she is adding a bustle!
That was one of the last big things left to take care of so I’m glad that’s out of the way! Can’t wait to see how it fits when she’s finished!
I also got nervous when standing there as she was pinning!

I’ve had my first one and my second one is scheduled for Friday 24th May in the afternoon, but the seamstress said I’ll probably need a third fitting as I’ve lost quite a lot of weight recently (36 lbs since January) and am still losing weight.
I’m a bit worried that my dress won’t look very nice, the seamstress keeps assuring me that it will as she says it’s a really easy style to take in and still keep the original shape of, but it was pretty huge on me at my last fitting.
I was super-nervous before trying it on though, and I’m really nervous again now, it seems each week I find something new to worry about wedding planning wise lol.

@xdaydreams05x: aw you poor thing! try to breathe and relax you’ll be fine 🙂
I didn’t get red at my fittings (I’ve had 2), they were pretty uneventful, the first fitting I had the dress hemmed. The second fitting she did the bustle (mine’s a french too), and the final fitting is scheduled for June 8th where she will be taking in about 4 inches in the hip area and making the bust fit me better (its kinda big).
I was so excited when I put it on! It did finally feel so real!

I did what will probably be my only fitting last Friday. My mom has used her for many years and I’m wearing a corset. So, feelin pretty good about the one fitting.

Im freaking out over mine LOL
I had my first about 5-6 weeks ago, the second was about 2 weeks ago….and my thrid is in another 2 weeks, just 17days before the wedding. THis concerns me because there is still quite a bit to be done last time I was in there, I’m really hoping this next appointment she has pretty much everything taken care of and only has to do a few last touches before my final.
It doesn’t help she is 45+ minutes away grrrrrrrrrrr lol
I didn’t get red and nervous during a fitting, but I def have stage fright to a max daily because the day is only 31 days away. I think lots of people get the pre wedding jitters, but thats interesting you got yours in your dress! 😉

I don’t have my first fitting till Monday the 20th, and I’m super nervous because I feel like it is a little late. However, that’s when the seamstress could fit me in, and since everyone at the store says she’e the best, that’s definitely who I want to go with! They also assured me that they weren’t a bit worried that this particular seamstress would have everything done in time and to my satisfaction. I’m nervous because there’s a weird horizontal line around my hips…it looks like someone stuck an extra piece of fabric in there…and I really don’t want it there all day and in all the pictures!

@xdaydreams05x: I’ve had three fittings since the beginning of Feb. My dress is done & I will be picking it up on June 4th!

I’ve had 2 fittings since March. The 2nd one was just to make sure the bodice was good (strapless and zip up) and to pin the hem. I have my final fitting/pick it up on May 29th, and the wedding is 2 weeks later (but I’m going to Philly the week before the wedding, so I needed it early).

My dress isn’t even finished yet! It should be by next weekend, but I’m not sure that its going to be perfect, we may be making changes up until the last week. SO NERVEWRACKING!

I don’t have my dress yet 🙁
My custom dress ended up being horrible, so I had to quickly find a new one. Hopefully it arrives this coming week, since we are less than three weeks away.
I’m sure I will turn red, among other things. I am SO nervous that this one will be a dud, too.

I had 2 so far. At the second, I was a little horrified.. she had put these cups in that I guess were supposed to give me big boobs… It was ridiculous! I have very little boobies and these cups were down to my ribs. Also, she made the dress a little tight.. I couldn’t really breathe.
Going for # 3 on Saturday!
