I’m not a June bride but a friend of mine is…she has only just ordered her invitations 2 days ago, she has not looked at wedding bands, she has not secured a DJ, she hasn’t registered and her shower is less than a month away, she hasn’t had her tasting or done her classes with her church that are required…oh and still editing her guestlist

You’re not!  I’m ridiculous!  I have a few lil projects I have to do but I keep postponing them.  First of all, I need more stamps so I can send out all my invites in one batch.  I also have to paint a design on my aisle runner.  I have to make pommanders and paint the shepherds hooks they will be hanging on, along the aisle.  And I have to paint my gift box.  Because my freakin’ cat peed on it!  I have no idea why he did that, its so not like him.  Except for the fact that it was in his playing area.

@marlew- your friend is stressing me out!  Although she’s making me look like super bridea lol.  I would be a wreck if I still had all of that to do.

seriously!! the only thing she had done as of the last week of December was book her venue and church. I physically had to go over there, put her in the car, take her to get a dress, get her appointments with a photographer and a florist in 1 day over the xmas holiday season.  She thinks that things will magically happen (and complains how much it costs at the same time when she’s not willing to bargain or shop around)

Wow, I agree, @marlew’s friend makes me feel so good about my wedding planning “skills!”

That being said, I’ve done my share of procrastinating as well…although I finally checked a big one off my list – I hired my florist yesterday! Wahoo! The other things staring me in the face are: asking our ushers/guest book attendants/servers, planning out the ceremony, planning out the day-of timeline, and other big picture items like that. I can crank out the busy work projects like its my job, but things that require thought and planning tend to be what I put off!

@thefuturemrsgibbs- You’re not so bad.  But definitely don’t delay!  I wish you luck 🙂

@marlew- at some point you’re not gonna be able to save her.  I hope she starts to get her stuff together!

Maybe I’m better at this wedding stuff than I thought!…. probably not….

Hm.. I think I’m pretty on track.  DIY-ing invites.. so trying to send those out April 17th.  Then onto programs (designed) and escort cards and table numbers (not designed).

I have to meet with the DJ to pick out music, select our readers and readings, and finalize the rehersal dinner.  As well as make rehersal dinner invites.  Those are thing things I really need to get on!

@thefuturemrsgibbs, I think it’ll be easier than I’m envisioning… Future Mother-In-Law probably has all of his family, and I have all my friends almost, I just need to get after Fiance about getting his friends’ addresses and then collect them all in one easy-to-access place. It just all sounds so … daunting! LOL!

@thefuturemrsgibbs – Agreed! Now I totally understand why people use wedding planners – I always thought it seemed silly until I realized how much WORK this is! And half the work for me has just been learning about weddings – I was so clueless at the beginning of this process.
