Order invites

Buy centerpieces

Order FI’s band

Choose Groomsmen attire

Design programs & seating chart

Buy my shoes, garter, jewlery

Start alterations in late March

Decide on favors

Make a playlist

Book a videographer

Decide on table numbers

Get addresses from everyone

Order rehersal dinner invites

Finish our day of timeline

Finish our registry

Make photography list

Buy thank you cards for shower & wedding

Resize my band

I’m sure there’s more I’m not thinking of too. It sucks planning a wedding hundreds on miles away! Less than 4.5 months to go, yay!!

We still need…

decide on flowers. My mother’s friend is all about doing our flowers, but she isn’t big on doing real flowers. I really want real so we have to decide if she wants to do our real flowers, or hire a florist.

get the groom/groomsmen attire. They said we should do that about a month and half before.

obtain a cake topper, toasting glasses and servers.

obtain a petticoat, garter and headpiece.

hammer down the details of the cake. We need to book an appointment with the lady to design it.

send the invites, we have them all done and in hand but I’m waiting for it to be a bit closer To our date.

centerpeices. I don’t know if I want floral or simple candles etc.

rings, we need to order our rings from the same place that did my engagement ring.

Work on smaller details to personalize our wedding. Like little touches of DIY items.

Pay off the venders.

I’m sure there is a bunch more but these are the few things I could think of at the moment.

  • Booked photographer & videographer
  • Figuerd out videographer travel arrangements
  • Booked officiant
  • Booked florist
  • Booked caterer/had tasting
  • Arranged rehearsal dinner

We still have to:

  • Figure out groomsmen attire!
  • Figure out groomsmen accomodations
  • Ask my cousin-in-law to do our music
  • Get my dress altered (going this week!)
  • Figure out our reception background music
  • Make the rest of our centerpieces

January was a productive month; it had to be because by the end of December and the 5-month mark looming I was getting anxiety lol πŸ™‚

What we’ve done so far:

Booked our caterer, rentals and officiant (we’re having it at my parents’ home so we had to bring in vendors)

Booked DJ and photographer

I have my dress and jewelry

We have our wedding bands

I made the bouts

Designed the invites, started assembly and addressing. First batch goes out in a month. My hand is about to fall off.

We registered last summer, which is good because Fiance ended up being sent on a job out of town in June that he wont finish until February

Flowers are ordered

Centrepieces are almost done – we cut wine bottles to make hurricane vases that will cover candles and sit on slices of birchwood (already cut by FFIL). Also having votive candles in birchwood holders (also done) and a flower arrangement. FI’s February job is to sand the bottles/figure out how to secure them to the wood. All I have left to purchase is the candles.

Hair/makeup/nail appointments are booked – I highly recommend having an esthetician for a SIL πŸ™‚

Honeymoon is booked – 6 nights at Sun Palace Cancun

Rehearsal dinner is booked

Vows are chosen (Catholic wedding so we can’t really write our own) and order of ceremony is roughed out. Marriage prep is done too.

Sent save-the-dates in December

What we have left to do:

Locate and purchase rest of decor, especially for the ceremony. Have an altar already but I’m crazy about white hanging wisteria. I NEED IT.

Buy my shoes

Confirm and rent groom/smen attire, TBC this Saturday

Finish up ceremony programs

Actually schedule rehearsal with the priest

Purchase Bridal Party and parents’ gifts

Book valet parking and possibly a shuttle to/from hotel (most guests are OOT)

Dress fittings (first one already scheduled)

Book hotel room for wedding night and hotel in Toronto the night before we fly out for our honeymoon

Order cake topper

Purchase alcohol

Organize s’mores bar and midnight snack -PIZZZZAAAAAA! We already know where we’re getting it from though.

Then once we get RSVPs back I’ll have to do seating chart, escort cards, etc

I think that’s about it…my bridesmaids are choosing and purchasing their own dresses but I haven’t decided if I want them all to wear matching shoes yet. I’ve made them all jewelry but that’s not the entirety of their gifts. There’s lots of little details but we’re definitely on track. once we booked our DJ and photog I felt A LOT better. Also once the invitations and enclosures were all cut (5 cards per invite x 80 invites= 400 pieces to cut? omg.) I DIY’d a lot (as you can see) but we haven’t had to compromise on what we envisioned so ita worth all the extra work.

buy little metal tins to stick succulents in

My to do list was starting to nag at me and I was getting so flustered trying to keep up with everything we have to do that I made a Master-List-To-End-All-Lists that I take with me everyday and the feeling of crossing off an item is such a good one πŸ™‚

Here’s the major things from my list. We still have to:

Meet with a potential cake baker (appointment this Saturday)

Book Cake Baker

Shop for Rings

Tux Fitting (Scheduled for the first of March)

Meet with Florist and hash out details (also on my calendar)

Order wedding favors

Finish Registry

Pick up my Dres (in 2 weeks)

Plan timeline for ceremony and reception

Mail Invites in April

Reserve taxis for honeymoon

Buy fabric to make tablerunners

Set date for makeup trial-run through

Order napkins

Rent tablecloths and chaircovers

Make music selections for DJ and ceremony

Plan rehearsal dinner menu

Buy Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts

Finish wedding slideshow

Finish and print programs

Sent announcment to newspaper

Marriage license

Various small DIY projects

Whew….okay I’m starting to feel overwhelmed again! But we’ve done all the major planning and most of this stuff we already know what we want we just gotta actually *do* it.

We still need to:

Figure out the KY marriage liscense deal

Finalize our ceremony (It’s mostly written, but we are fine tuning)

Get my dress altered

Figure out how I’m doing hair/Make up & set up a trial with my cousin

print invites (and figure out wording)

Write vows

figure out special songs

Make ipod DJ lists

build a dance floor

Build a wall for our french doors for ceremony entry way (ceremony is in a field, so had to break the space up somehow)

Get party people gifts

pull the trigger on jewelry (I know what I want, but it seems SO EXPENSIVE!)

Plan timeline

assemble favors

assemble bouquets

make a bunch more paper flowers

make bouts

a few small projects

Shew! I am sort of stressing, but you guys are making me feel better since we are all sort of on the same page!
