Hey Date Twin!!! We will be setting up apointments for taste testing for food and pre-marital counciling with our pastor in January. I have a few months before alterations on my gown. Other than that we are right on track. Happy planning!

6 months to go for me! (I’m at the end of the month.)

We’re getting ready to send out the save the dates (don’t worry we are still finalizing our guest list too… uggggghhh) and then I’ll be working on the invites as soon as those are done.

I absolutely need to book a florist — it’s the last vendor on my list.

The rest is all details and hoping my dress comes in soon! ๐Ÿ˜€

I feel behind at times and almost done at times… it’s driving me nuts.

I still have to:

  • figure out decorating the ceiling or lighting.
  • Buy tablecloths
  • Figure out lasers for the dance floor
  • Finish buying candy for the candy buffet
  • Finish up DIY’s
  • Get our passports
  • make sure the bridesmaids get their dresses
  • find an officiant or figure out if we want to self unite?

Things we have to do but have to wait till closer to the wedding:

  • details with our venue like the arch/arbor (which they say they provide and the outlet locations, room dimensions. I wish they would have just told me these things before ugh lol)
  • get my dress altered
  • get stamps, address and send out invitations
  • PAY EVERYTHING OFF…. (photographer, dj, venue, officiant, honeymoon, jewelry, alterations, caterer (and change our cake design), florist (and add a few flowers))

I also have to go over all the tiny details… dj playlist/timeline for the day…

I have all the major thingsbooked- except flowers as I’m ordering flowers from either Costco or art knapps. I have my invites but need to print them out still. I’m very stuck on what to do for a rehearsal and if we want to do a morning after bruch for family. We are just using an iPad, no dj so I need to organize music still. We have a decorator so that’s all taken care of for the most part. We’ve put the honeymoon plans on hold as we just can’t afford to pay for that before the wedding ๐Ÿ™ Now I feel like I have so much to do! Only 5.5 months! Ahhhhh!!!

Aaah my countdown switched to 5 months 30 days (I’m on June 30th) today and my stomach did a flip when I saw that 5 there. It seems so much closer all of a sudden! This is my to-do list copied from the other recent thread and edited to include updates from the past few days:

In progress:

-Groom and Best Man suit shopping this weekend
-Ties for dads bought, just need to have them pick (I got a selection for them to choose from)
-Found a bustier that works for under my dress, just need to wait until it comes back in stock in my size/color to order it
-Making 50+ Martha Stewart coffee filter roses for centerpieces and bouquets
-Gathering stuff for ceremony decor
-Creating a day-of timeline
-Making reception playlists (iTunes reception)

Still to do:

-Get guestbook and pen
-Get garter from my dad’s house (using my mom’s)
-Buy silk greenery to fill out centerpieces and bouquets
-Programs, place cards, table numbers, etc.
-Buy enough vases for all the centerpieces
-Buy Mr. & Mrs. letters for head table
-Choose menu with caterer
-Choose wines with venue
-Choose beer
-Write the ceremony — readings, vows, etc.
-Dress alterations
-Get bow ties for groom and best man
-Get MOH’s jewelry and hair accessories
-Figure out what Future Father-In-Law and Future Mother-In-Law and my grandma are wearing
-Find “friendors” to be emcee and hair/makeup people
-Print & put together invitations
-Buy stamps before the price goes up again
-Book bridal party hotel rooms for wedding weekend
-Figure out rehearsal dinner & day-after brunch
-Finish registry
-Buy groom’s wedding band

Oh my, 5mo to go exactly for me. *shudders* Whew…I’m pretty much on track though atleast.

Waiting on one Bridesmaid or Best Man to get her dress ordered, Groom is ordering his outfit this week, the officiant & GMs are ordering thiers by the 1st week of march. Starting on flowers soon, I have 1 month left to finish invites so I can start shipping off the overseas ones. I have about half the decor bought, havent stanrted any of the DIY projects yet. We’re finalizing the cake design this month so I can make some small practice runs. Venue for both ceramony & reception are the church & that means seating, tables, plates, flatware and the likes are provided. Rounding up volunteers in the next few months for decorating, clean up, childcare, servers, special readings, more ushers. Almost all of my outfit is complete, I just need my veil, garter, corset, stockings & necklace. Need to get attendant & parent gifts, book the rehersal dinner site & get our quaich shipped in. Mmhmm, pretty much on track, I know I forgot a few things though in my lists. But I’m still gettin just a tad gittery, 5mo is NOT a very long time! It’s going to go by FAST!

My head is about to explode. Can’t list off whats left for fear of mental breakdown:) I am working on my DIY invites right now. they are taking FOREVER. After these are done, I have to buy stamps and address the envelopes. After that, finish my place cards. After THAT…I think all I have to do REALLY is finalize my cake vendor, but Maid/Matron of Honor said she’d have her friend hook me up, just gotta get the details. I just bought and had my manzanita’s delivered. And I buy the crystal garland for them one by one, using a 50% off coupon from Michael’s every day, sometimes, driving there twice! I have all my glass ware for my dessert bar, i guess i gotta finish planning that out too…

I’ve got 6 months (I’m June 30th) and I’m feeling pretty good.

A little pressure on getting a salon booked (heard from a friend that at the salon she works at, someone just booked for a June 30th wedding. Eek!)

Need to get a hold of the venue (doing ceremony and reception there) to find out exact times we have the building, when we can do the rehearsal and about food. Those are musts for January.

Once I get times from the venue I can finalize the DJ contract I’ve been sitting on.

Order flowers (getting them from WedIdeas.com).

Find somewhere to get alterations.

Book flights to St. John’s. That one is hard because right now I’m jobless. It’s not the money factor, but if I get a job, then I have to go by vacation time.

Hmmm.. This is what I’ve gotten done so far:

– Sent save the dates

– Booked DJ

– Booked ceremony and reception venues

– Bought dress, shoes and hair piece

– Figured out photographer (having a friend take the pictures)

– Ordered and received wedding bands

– Ordered invites, just have to address and send in March (will probably start addressing invites soon so I don’t spend an entire day doing them again like the STDs!)

– Mostly made decisions on aisle decorations

– Checked out ceremony chair & arch and rehearsal dinner table & chair rentals, just have to book (tables/chairs/catering/everything comes in reception venue booking)

– Checked out rehearsal dinner catering (having BBQ catered at our house–we felt like something a little more down-to-earth was more our style)

– Booked flights and most hotels for honeymoon (heading to Europe for two weeks! Going to the English countryside, London, Paris and Munich–only have Munich hotel, flight from Paris to Munich, and Eurostar train tickets from London to Paris)

– Finished most of the registry–doing a Traveler’s Joy registry.

Stuff I have left:

– Book rehearsal dinner catering, rentals, finish booking honeymoon stuff and doing registry

– Address and send invites

– Buy parasols (for bridesmaids to carry instead of bouquets), guest book box and note cards for guests to write on, and necklace to wear during wedding

– Finish bridesmaid gifts

– Figure out what sort of cake and book it

– Figure out centerpieces

– Finish wedding room block (one hotel is blocked, one is not), edit website accordingly

– Marriage license

– Figure out playlist for ceremony and meet with DJ

– Figure out what Fiance is going to wear

– Try to relax and not stress out! ๐Ÿ™‚
