I know a few people who’ve done that and think it’s a great idea as sometimes it’s hard to relax after the wedding/better to settle in for a while and then go when you’re ready for another treat!

bridetobespring2018 :  Yup! Also a June bride, and we decided to do Hawaii for our honeymoon – but thought it silly to go from someplace hot to someplace even hotter. Instead, we’d much rather wait until the winter and do an awesome 2 weeks in Hawaii while it’s freezing back here on the East Coast. Plus, it takes a lot of stress off of wedding planning to not feel like we’re planning a vacation at the same time, and far less pressure on Fiance as far as time off from work goes.

Right after the wedding, we’re going to do a 1 week mini-moon up to Acadia NP in Maine. Just something laid back and easy to decompress, but that doesn’t require any booking of flights/extreme planning/ and should hopefully be a bit cooler than it is here in June.

We’re doing a mini-moon right after our wedding and a honeymoon a few months later. We can’t afford the honeymoon we want right now, after financing the majority of the wedding ourselves, and we also want to enjoy our honeymoon and not feel rushed into planning it as well as a wedding at the same time. We’re from Maryland, and we’re going to the Poconos in Pennsylvania to go to a NASCAR race the weekend of our wedding. It’s so us (we go to races all the time), and we’ll be staying at a nice resort nearby. We’re really looking forward to it! Then a few months later, we’ll be going to England.

We’re doing this as well. Minimoon to Cape Cod right after our wedding next month (eeekkkk) and then someplace warmer for an actual Honeymoon (or heck, let’s just call it a vacation at this point) over the Winter.

bridetobespring2018 :  We did a mini-moon staycation.  Stayed at a more non-city type of location in a quaint hotel, it was nice.  Australia is a beautiful location, I totally recommend it… it’s super far away and there’s a lot of planning involved; be sure to work with an australian travel specialist, here’s the one I use regularly: http://www.downunder-travel.com/ (P.S. I’ve been to Australia aduring their winter, it’s not cold at all… you may need to bring a light jacket for the evening though).

We did a mini-moon to Las Vegas, and are planning a longer honeymoon in December. I wanted to go ahead and get married in March, but I didn’t have the time off for a regular honeymoon on that date. I’m glad we did it. We had nice time together, and have a full honeymoon to look forward to!!

We did a mini moon to Lake George NY right after the wedding. We are taking our honeymoon to Cuba this summer (about 14 months after the wedding).

I’m happy we waited. It was such a stressful time, that I wouldn’t have enjoyed myself as much as we should. I was also still nursing our daughter at the time. And we never could have gone on a cruise to Cuba because RCI didn’t put out the itinerary there until this past January.
