@iRun2004:  I think 10DPO is the earliest you can test and even get close to an accurate result. FX!!!

@MrsCarnival:  You could always start testing on June 29th…if you’re brave.  Your timing sounds right though.

@iRun2004:  I understand you there.  This was the cycle where DH and I went out for the day and somehow got into a stupid argument (over his driving maybe?) and we were both in a foul mood.  I went upstairs and did an OPK and it was positive.  I told him, we made up and BD’d.  BUT we’d also BD’d 2 nights before and BD’d the next day.  All times with pre-seed and I didn’t get up afterwards….just went to bed.  I KNOW I’m gonna be upset if it doesn’t happen.  I’m starting to get light AF type cramps now.

Other stupid symptoms today…I figured I’d put them out there.  Didn’t eat lunch until way later than normal and nearly fainted.  It was so bad I couldn’t drive to run errands and DH drove me instead.

PLUS, my dad sent me an awesome email thanking me for his Father’s Day gift.  He said some pretty emotional things….to which I responded…to which he replied.  Made me cry both times.

@DiamondsandLace:  OK the details:

So as I said, I wasn’t going to test today until I noticed yesterday that I started having stronger weird cramps and was sooooo irritable.  Too early for period.  So I decided that if my temperature was still up this morning I would POAS.  Unfortunately, I woke up at 3 am to pee (second time in 4 days and I NEVER have this happen). I took my temp at that time and it was lower than yesterday but, of course, it was also 4 1/2 hours early. So I tried to fall back asleep and couldn’t for two hours.  FInally did and got in 3 hours of sleep and retemped at the right time. It was 98.2, my highest temp yet this cycle.  I wanted to test but was afraid I peed out all my fmu at 3 am.  I also worried that it was too early and I would feel silly if I got a BFN, so I didn’t tell DH I was going to test. I didn’t want him to worry if I got a BFN.  When he left for work, I got up and tested.  Very quickly I saw a very faint 2nd line and it gradually got darker.  3 minutes was when I took this picture (It looks lighter in the picture than it was in person. It was actually quite distinct.) Now I am scheming how to tell hubby. I really want it to be cute but it is taking A LOT of will power to resist calling him.  The thing that stops me is that he is having a crazy day at work today so I don’t want to distract him.  I’ve waited until I’m almost 35 to get the BFP, I can surely wait a few hours to tell him! Soooo…. I bought a onesie from his alma mater and wrapped it, with the test.  I’ll give it to him when he gets home.

@DiamondsandLace:  Ok, i’m in for Saturday AM POAS!! Who’s going to join us?? I think it’s the perfect way to end this wonderful, wonderful June POAS group. πŸ™‚ At least there is a great group in the July thread for those of us who don’t make it through. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

@travellingfool:  omg, so great!!! What about stopping at a store ont he way home and getting a little onesie or soemthing that says “I love my daddy” or something like that? Plus, it will get your excitement levels right through the roof (as if they aren’t there already!) and you can oogle and awwgle through all the weeee baby things!! EEEK!!! congrats again!

I have a secret little box for when the time comes, with a little infant pair of cowboy boots (that i bought YEARS ago because they were so freaking sweet) and a onesie that i stole out of a set for a friends baby shower, I think the onsie says “my daddy makes me smile” . When the time comes I plan on wrapping them up, or doing something cute to surprise DH if i can hold it in more than 2 seconds!

@travellingfool:  Thanks for sharing your story!  He’ll be sooo excited.

@StaceyA:  You are too funny!  I have had “I love Grandma” and “I love Grandpa” onesies for years….they finally started to get discolored.  I donated them.  Since DH is the one who is always begging me to POAS, I’m not sure I’d have time to surprise him.  My parents that’s a different story!

@texasbee:  Hahaha I don’t know if I’m feeling brave…mostly just confused πŸ™‚ Sounds like you and DH really gave it a shot. Hope this is your month!

@StaceyA:  I guess you could count me in for Saturday? According to FF (which was totally wrong about my O date) AF is due July 3rd, so I may be able to get a result Saturday morning. I just wish DH didn’t leave for 6 weeks on Friday πŸ™

@ChuckNorris:  Yea, super rare and that’s why it didn’t register in my head right away lol. I wiped and was like “huh…that’s odd,” but didn’t think anything of it, or of my weird cramps/twinges or my weepiness until later after all the stupid OPKs.

Vaginas are stupid.

@travellingfool:  WAT you haven’t told him yet?!?!?! I can only hope I have enough restraint someday to shut my mouth for long enough to do something cute. YAY!!!

@texasbee:  awww, so cute! I never intentionally wanted to get things, didn’t want to “jinx” it. I grabbed the boots one year at the Calgary Stampede (i think I was 19?!) and held on to them ever since. We are country bumpkins so our LO’s will most certainly have cowboy boots! As for the onesie, I saw it, liked it and stole  it out of the set lol. My great aunt knitted me 2 blankets and 2 little outfits as she’s now in her 90’s and not really able to knit much more, so there is a little “baby stash” happening, but I’m not adding to it until it’s time πŸ™‚

There are always lots of cute grandma/grandpa onesies out there though, when you need them!!!

@MrsCarnival:  You and I are pretty much in the same boat. My cycles have been anywhere between 26-30 days, and O is usually at 17 (I think, based strictly on cramping), but I think it was earlier this month now. I’m CD21. May I suggest you POAS Saturday morning with us???

WHO’S WITH ME?!

View original reply
@texasbee:  That schedule sounds perfect, and your symptoms sound promising. Cramps are not a bad thing (that’s what I’m telling myself at least!)

@StaceyA:  Yay! Agreed, this has been my favorite month board yet, both because it’s been so successful and because everyone has been so positive (no pun intended). July looks like a very fun group too — if I don’t get a BFP Saturday morning I’ll be joining then.

@DiamondsandLace:  KILL THE BEAST!

I think I will POAS Saturday morning. It’s only CD25 for me (I’m usually 27-28), but I think I have as good a chance as any on Saturday since I’m not super sure when I O’ed. I wish DH could be around for the results, but I will have to find a close friend to tell right away if it’s a BFP.

Ideas for telling DH long-distance if I get a BFP? Phone call? Text him a pic? Skype with a onesie or something? I’m all ears ladies.
