sarahlyn2626: I’ve been thinking of you all day. I hope everything is all right.

pregnantbee: Congrats on your BFP! Im laughing and your lack of patience with others…this is one of my DH’s favorite pregnancy symptom :p

So I had my first OB appointment today (with my counting Im 10 weeks 3 days due June 1) but it didnt go well. I was referred to on OBGYN at a clinic that is attached to a huge hospital…so it was a huge clinic full of a ton of people. There were 14 random doctors on the floor I was on. When we finally found the desk where our doctor was based out of it was empty and there were papers stuck to the wall telling patients where to check in. We followed the instructions to a desk where a lady was typing into a computer. She told us to “check it at the front desk” we told her “no one was there”. She asked my name, and then said very snottily “the doctor left to do a c-section, sit and MAYBE you’ll be seen sometime today”. I said “can I reschedule?” and she said to me “Im doing something here if you cant see”. DH was just about to huff up when I dragged him into the hallway where the only seats were available to sit. We talked for a few minutes and decided that this wasnt the environment we wanted to visit every month or more until and even after baby is born. So we left and Im on the hunt for a new doctor πŸ™

Am I pushing it by not seeing a doctor until 11 or 12 weeks? I dont want to do anything that will be a negative on our baby.

@mrsjets: That is ridiculous. I would have left as well. You’re ok. Lots of doctors in the US won’t see a patient until they are 12 weeks along or so.

mwitter80: Thank you! DH and I both wondered if we over-reacted but think a smaller practice is better for us. I dont like people being rude…it makes me become rude and I HATE being that person.

@mrsjets: Almost the exact same thing happened to us. After telling my sister and SIL (both moms) they told me to switch doctors immediately. We also swiched hospitals all together. I am much happier! Good luck

Well our fears were confirmed.  We are looking at the positive side and knowing that we can try again in a few months!  I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies!

@sarahlyn2626: I’m so sorry.  I know this is incredibly difficult to deal with, it’s amazing how many of us have been there before, but I think your positive attitude is truly admirable.  Sending lots of hugs and well wishes your way!

@sarahlyn2626: You are very strong to already be thinking on the positive. Im so sorry, know that my thoughts are with you and your DH. Sometimes life is just so unfair.

My bestfriend called her doctor and she was lovely enough to take me on! My first appointment is on my 12 week mark. She is at a practice with only 1 other doctor so I hope it’s a more comfortable feel. Thanks for the support, it’s nice to know that you dont HAVE to stick with the first Dr. or Clinic you go to.

Thank you everyone!  Yesterday I was pretty emotional especially having to tell my mom and gma the news.  Hopefully this is just a couple months set back.  πŸ™‚  Enjoy your pregnancies!!  I may come back and check on everyone from time to time esp. around the 20 weeks mark!! Laughing

@Cole B:  Congrats on having a great first appointment!  It must be so exciting to hear the heart beat – we’ve only seen it on u/s but I can’t wait until I actually hear it!

I have an appt on Monday to go over the bloodwork I had done on Monday but then my next appointment won’t be until after I come back from the States at 13 weeks, and that’s when we’ll have the NT scan.  I’m currently 8w 1d now so that seems so far away!

How is everyone feeling?  We’ve been a bit quiet on this thread the past few days and just want to see how everyone’s doing.

I think I’m mostly beyond the cramping phase (thank goodness!) but have been incredibly hormonal and exhausted lately.  Still no MS but still not much of an appetite either.   I’m trying to motivate myself to get to the local pool and start a swimming regime but as of yet, I haven’t managed to get my lazy self there!  Maybe on Monday…  is anyone else working out right now?

@Ree723:

Hi there πŸ™‚

I have been stalking this  board as Im due 31st June πŸ˜‰

Its great to read everyone elses experiences with this online as I have kust moved to london and have noone to talk to it about, I dont want to tell our parents until we go back home to Ireland at christmas and tell them face to face!!

When we found out I was pregnant (after once incidence of unprotected BD- eventhough I have to say I KNEW by my body I was ovulating- I have always been very intune with my cycles without temping or charting My DH and I are both 31) we were in a pretty precarious situation!

We had just moved from our fab life in australia home to Ireland in July as my mum almost died as was extremely ill in hospital on lifesupport for a month- I was by her bedside from april till july- but by some miracle pulled through!! (THANK GOD!)

We got married in august and moved to London after the honeymoon (where we know noone!) the same week we found out we were pregnant mid October!  So My DH had started a job, we were living in temporary accommodation (a tiny room with a fridge in it) I had been applying for jobs and got a job offer the week we found out I was pregnant!!!

So I freaked out for about a week and told the boss straight up I was pregnant and they were just wondefull about it and offered me the job anyway!

So we found a lovely house and are moving in in 2 weeks time, My older sister came to visit me and it was WONDERFUL!! She was so positive and excited about the whole thing!

So now we are in such a wonderful place and getting so excited about the whole thing!

So 7 weeks and 2 days gone, sore boobs, EXHAUSTED (fun fun fun in a busy new job with an 1.5 hour commute) nauseous, acne and bloated!

On the upside I work as a Vet and have access to an ultrasound machine so I can watch the baby grow!!!

Sorry to bore you all to tears with my story- but even if noone reads this is is SO cathartic posting this on this site!!

Its FABULOUS to check into the junebugs thread and see how all the other lovely ladies are feeling!!
